Please share your best Master's memory (here's mine, Jack up close, personal)

Please share your favorite memory, at the course or not. Here's mine.

One or two years after Jack won in 1986, I was at a Tuesday practice round when a thunder storm halted play...for two-plus hours. I was by the practice green by #10 tee, the horn (restart) blew...the first person out of the clubhouse was Jack, with his son Jackie on the bag. Clearly, he had hit no balls for 2 or 2/12 hours. They started walking to #10 tee and I, alone, followed them, walking 2 or 3 paces behind them. I felt like I was with Mohammed Ali, going to the ring to fight Frazier....or some ancient knight from The Iliad, going out to a death match with swords.

They kept walking, not hitting a shot, down 10 then down 11...and came to #12, the famous par 3. Pin was back right. Jack pulled a 7 iron out, debating what to hit....it was a bit cool, they both looked at the pines above and the #11 flag, trying to figure out the tricky wind. . He then switched to a 6 iron. The wind was quartering from the right, against us. He took a 3/4 swing -- TOTALLY COLD, NO WARM-UP and hit a high shot, dead straight, and as it dropped, a soft fade, 2 or 3 yards, holding the line against the wind.

It landed and stopped, three feet from the pin.

I was dumbstruck.

My only memory is when it rained out the course for the first time in 20+ years and we were only there for one day. They wouldn't even let us look at the course or the clubhouse. We only got into the merchandise trailer and spent the rest of the day sitting in a bar. Haven't been back since unfortunately.

Jeez, went from good to awful!

For me, you see the avatar pic. 1999

That man said he crawled to the refrigerator during the 1998 Masters Broadcast, and was not sure he would ever hit another ball.

Such a classy man, almost tearing up writing about it. I still have the newspaper clip in a box.

I cried like a b****.

They still never talk about this Masters....

I have never been lucky enough to go, but my dad and grandpa were staying with Bob Goalby, close family friend, in '68 when he won. A few years earlier, Goalby pulled my dad, who was 10 at the time, out on to the practice putting green on Tuesday to hit a few putts.

Two that are close:

1. In 1996 I was home from college the week of the Masters. On Sunday, with Norman holding a big lead, my dad was going to do some work in the yard and told me to come get him when they got to 15 so he could come in and watch Norman wrap it up. Needless to say I went and got him WAY before that and we watched from hole 8 on just dumbstruck at what we were seeing.

2. In 2012 going to a practice round with my dad and getting photos in front of the scoreboard. It was the first time either of us had set foot on the course so it was pretty special for both of us. Just a great, great day.

Mine involves just watching as I have never been. Crenshaw's win in 1995 was incredible. I watched most of it in the golf shop where I worked with an old pro. We were dead, no players and he kept me on the clock so we could watch together. Watching that putting stroke was awesome. Clearly a determined and inspired man that week.
