the yardage book cover : a comprehensive compilation

Recommended Posts

like many of us, I carry my clubs during a round of golf and once mid-summer arrives, the sweats often wreak havoc on many a scorecard improperly placed unprotected in my back right pants pocket. recently, I decided to rectify this situation and give said pants pocket a little leather love while out on the course by purchasing my first yardage book cover. while I don’t carry a yardage book, I do need somewhere sweat-safe to keep a pen, scorecard, notes and reminders on my person during a round of golf as I am fed-up with having to repeatedly find all of this stuff somewhere in my bag while on the fly.

as such, I began my search for an appropriately awesome yardage book cover by pilfering the pages of this forum. not surprisingly, I found a wide variety of recommendations for excellent yardage book covers in just as wide a variety of locations. with this thread, I simply want to bring my findings together in one place for not only my own, but everyone’s ease of use in locating an exceptional yardage book cover. the following comprehensive compilation is a list of companies that I believe are producing such products:

Sandlot is the way to go. I haven't scooped up a cover from them yet, but I can't say enough about their customer service. I got one of the first wallets they ever made, and will probably order a cover soon. Great people who care about their products.

Thanks for letting us know who you think we should buy a yardage book from even though you haven't

Yes because I'm sure Sandlot's quality really is that different on a wallet as it is a yardage book. Oh and they probably have a completely different customer service department for the yardage books as well.

Man you're a d![|<.

MADE IN KC...

Their shop is in the Crossroads arts district, and their goods are well known theres abouts.

quality stuff made by quality people...

but I had no idea they made yardage books, that's so cool... they seem like pretty arty hipsters to me, had no idea they would cater to a golfer...

Ditto several other previous posts. I think 151 posts is your limit.

I actually emailed the owner about two months ago and told her how much I'd enjoyed my wallet and would love it if there was a way that could make a one-off book for me. She said they'd actually had a few requests for golf gear, and that they were going to be releasing it soon. Here it is! I think I'm going to order mine next week. A little more than I'd hoped it would cost, but I'll assume it's as good as their wallets, which means I won't need to buy one again any time soon. I don't live in KC, but KC folks should be proud of businesses that love their city like Sandlot does.

Glad I saw this thread revisited. My wife surprised me with a Sandlot yardage book and I can't say enough great things about it. Excellent quality leather, and matches my wallet I already have from them. Highly recommend grabbing one if you're on the fence.

a bit of an odd update, the SANDLOT workshop and store got in an accident. a CAR accident...

a drunk driver plowed into the store front and INTO the shop before coming out and AFTER hitting two other cars.

but wait, there's more...

the drunk driver of the BRAND NEW FERRARI (iirc) then RAN AWAY from the scene!

he was later apprehended and the case is ongoing...

but as these things do, insurance claims can take a while, and I know theyre back up and operational, have been awhile (accident was in mid-September), but those good people also deserve a bit of (fiscal) love these days. thank goodness they are excellent craftsmen and good people, but small business owners already have it rough...
