Ideas and Tips for an "Elite" experience - Input Needed

Recommended Posts

Ok - not sure if this is the correct forum, but it's the one that seems the closest. Here goes ...

My wife's company is looking at changing up the theme of their annual, "elite" sales conference and are looking for some ideas. My wife plays golf, but doesn't really "study" it like I do so she asked for some help here.

I'm looking for ideas for unique prizes, goodies and the like - assume cost is not an issue (for example and Trackman S4 system and the PXG 12K experience are on the list already -- damn, why can't I win this!?) but I'd like your input. We're dealing in rare air, and at money I don't usually look at spending so any help would be appreciated.

This can be in the form of:

Golf trips

Products

VERY high end clothing

Clubs

Experiences

In essence they are looking for a WOW factor that will fire up participants and get them excited. (The past couple of years have been Caribbean theme'd and it appears to be getting old).

Fire away! Let's get those ideas rolling!

They deal in high end golf tours to Scotland and Ireland. 5* hotels, top ranked golf courses, helicopter transers. That sort of thing.

I'm sure there are oth similar companies who could arrange 'bucket list' trips.

-A foursome of the winner's choice to stay and play for 3 days/2 nights at Streamsong or Bandon

-A foursome of the winner's choice to play one round at Pebble and one round at Spanish Bay (includes accommodations for three days/two nights at the Inn on site)

-Four tickets to a US Open and PGA Championship (same year) including hotel accommodations

TaylorMade M3 w/HZRDUS Yellow stiff

What's the industry your wife's company is in? I ask because I'm sure a fitting session for a full PXG bag would likely be more mouth watering to a room full of WRX's than say [actuaries] (no offense meant here, my folks are actuaries and they wouldn't know which end of the club to hold).

For a more golf-centric group a couple ideas:

1) Travel and accommodations to Nike Oven/TPI/etc. for full bag fitting

2) Golf bucket-list travel package (I believe another WRX'r listed an example above)

3) Travel and accomodations to a weekend at a Major

For a general group -- more going for 'wow factor' with sprinkles of golf

1) Golf/spa package to resort -- Pebble/Seamstrong/etc

2) Dubai trip -- Burj al Arab stay + golf

3) A new Rolls Phantom with a new set of clubs in the truck (you said cost isn't an issue right?)

Taylormade M1
Titleist 915H1

She's in the Technology sector and the target group are certainly golfers. To that end the PXG is still viable (although I agree that for some it wouldn't mean nearly as much ), but I love the ideas that are coming out of this!

Please keep them coming!

If she's in the tech sector, maybe hit up Gates for a round at Augusta?

More realistic prizes:

All expense paid trip to the Ryder Cup, full event.

Trip to Rio for the Summer Games.

Full golf Clinic with Butch Harmon. Fitting with Cool Stixs or one of the OEM sites (Oven, Kingdom, etc).

Trip to China to play Mission Hills (12 golf courses).

The other obvious ones are Bandon, Pebble and the Old Course. I would love to check out Cabot Trails / Cliffs in Nova Scotia.

How about a fitting at The Oven (Nike) or another major manufacturer?

As I just got finished with it a trip to PGA West including a 3 hour lesson and separate fitting session. All the instructors are great and their fitter is absolutely top notch. Don't need to buy any clubs, he'll make adjustments to what they have.

Destination golf for a 3 day weekend, Bandon or Streamsong or the likes.

If $ isn't too much of an option and depending on where they are, win a 4some in a pro-am of a PGA or LPGA tourney. Or get in touch with a pro and have the pro play a round with the winners 4some.

A year long or trial membership to a private club. I know a club or 2 near me had trial memberships for abou $1k a year and $250 a month. Just have the company prepay.

Couple good ideas in the Pro-Am or the membership at a local club.

Add a chartered flight to a golf destination. Attended a recent fundraiser that included an auction and one of the hottest items was travel for four by private jet to Pinehurst, staying in a private home and golf for the weekend.

Hey now! I'm an actuary.

But you are right, I've never met a fellow actuary that is into golf to the level that I am.

I would add a skytrak plus simulator software to the list.
