Just my luck!!

So I decided to play a round at a local golf course the other day. As I was put on, the starter was very apologetic towards the fact that I had no playing partners. I, on the other hand, didn't mind at all because I had a few things to work on. As I approached the par 3 2nd, about 135 yards, or a simple wedge, I pured it. The pin was set to the back left, and my ball started down the middle, with about a 5 yard draw. I watched my ball go bounce, bounce, bounce, spin back and in. ACE! But no one to share the moment with, and more importantly, no one to attest my card. All I have now is an unsigned score card, and a memorable ball. I've been playing for 2 years now, and the moment I've been patiently waiting for can't be proven. I guess all that really matters is that I know. Well, just needed to vent. yea same here..... been playing golf for about 14 years and a scratch golfer and havent had one!!!

Shame there was no one there to see it but regardless congratulations. :dntknw: Great achievement.

Most of us will never know the joy of getting one at all, i would not care if i had a witness or not, i would just be so happy to get one.

Congrats!! I've had just the opposite experience. You saw your ace, with no witnesses. I've made two, with witnesses, but have seen neither go in the hole. The first, in 1994, was to a 151 yard hole. Thought I pulled my iron shot, turned around in disgust, muttered something under my breath... The brother-in-law and other two players in the group suddenly began shouting that it went in the hole. I said "Sure! You expect me to believe that?" Walked to the green and was able to pick my first ace out of the hole. The second, two years ago, was on a dew-sweeping early morning. I knew I pured the shot and felt it should be on line. Playing partner said he couldn't see it on the green and maybe it went over the back. I knew I didn't have enough club to clear the green and thought maybe it came up short. We walked to the green and, again, was able to pick the ball from the hole. Didn't see the ball in flight at all. Playing partner (one of my regulars) was far more excited than I. He couldn't wait to get to the clubhouse to tell everyone!

When I carded my second ace, the wife's nephew was really upset. He's close to scratch and hasn't had one. I play to about a 10 and have had two. It has to be pure luck.

Keep hittin' the ball... Keep enjoying the game... I promise that the golf gods will once again smile and reward you with your second... this time with witnesses present.

The vast majority of golfers are good honest people or are at least when it comes to golf, so Congrats on your hole in one and many more to you (with witnesses) :dntknw: .

Well iv'e been playing golf over 50 yrs....i finally got my first hole in one this past Sep.....but i was playing with a group of retiree's...i sent everthing to Golf Digest..but all i got so far is a Titleist golf tag from Titleist...nothing from Golf Digest..Bill
