Would you buy a 2.5 NIB for $125?

After discounts and giftcards that's what I'd pay. I'm pondering the purchase.

    Thanks!

No, but I"d take an SG5 for about the $200 it might cost you :-D

I know this was an older post but do you still have your SG4? Did they ever send you one that was accurate? I am going through the same situation. I just received my 4th SG4 in the mail today. I tried to get them to send me a 2.5 instead but they wanted nothing to do with that. I think if this one doesn't work I am just going to send it back, tell them to keep thier piece of garbage and I will take the loss and buy another brand...I am that fed up with it.

FWIW, I had 2 SG3s, both sucked. They tried to fix, never was all that great, took weeks at the time.

Anyay, broke the second one, SG5 was out, they would sell me a 'new/likely refurb' SG3 again, said I wanted the 5, they said no way...they need a lesson in cust sat.

The new software, old was Magellan if remember right, new is UBlox or something like that. Anyay, paid fuil retail for SG5, as had 200 GG gift card, gald I did. Thing is deadly accurate, easy to read, works perfectly. Almost 2 years, they walk the courses, and do update them, that whole buy the courses once, from a satellite photo triangulated jsut doesn't work for me, otherwise uPro looks tempting.

Look at it like a PC or other electronic toy, technolgoy advances, early adopters help fund the advance but pay for it...give up on SG4, try sweet talking them into a credit for upgrade, or just smash it with a hammer, sent them the pieces, then get an SG5, it is sweet & on EB or web, can get for about 300

Yes, but would take the SG5 over the SG2.5, also after the sub runs out the only courses you have are what you mapped, front back and center. I love my SG5 and like my AE I don't leave home without it!! Good luck with your purchase.

I read through this thread. Why buy the SG5 for 200 more dollars when the SG2.5 has the same features? Please help I want to buy one NOW.

Unless you can get a 2.5 for about $125 I'd shop a bit more. The SG5 is way more viewable, easier to direct in direct TX sun, and larger screen allows view more targets simultaneously. The real difference is $100 and 3 years from now (or one round a decent place) you won't be wishing had pulled the trigger on the 2.5
