***ATTENTION***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***ATTENTION***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***ATTENTION

Last year, in an effort to improve the capability of our forums, we switched to new software. We expected tremendous scalability and rapid customization that would significantly improve each Member's experience across multiple devices and integrate flawlessly with social media platforms.

Unfortunately, after a significant capital expense, we have decided that the length of time and the additional cost to reach our goals make this enterprise untenable.

Thus, we have made the difficult decision to transition the forums to our original software platform. We’re excited that, in the nearly two years since we began the process of our most recent switch, our original platform has been upgraded significantly, and we are confident that the reversion will not only provide the stability that we desperately needed prior to our last move but will also return to the Membership the high level of customization that made our online community so great. We have also added technical resources to the GolfWRX staff that will allow us to build custom modules and modifications that we are confident will take the forums to the next level.

We remain the world's largest online golf community, and we still hold true to our core values and mission statement as written in 2005. Bearing both of those elements in mind, being the best and offering our Members a platform that is world-class are both requirements, not options, and it is that spirit that has motivated this decision.

So, please pardon our mess over the next five days or so while we transition the forums.

A few important notes: Current content will be accessible during that time, but the forums will be READ ONLY, and you will not be able to start new threads or reply to posts. Personal Messaging is enabled but PMs sent/received from the time the board was frozen will not carry over. We know this is inconvenient, and we apologize, and we greatly appreciate GolfWRXers bearing with us through the transition.

We are very excited about starting this next chapter for GolfWRX and getting back to the high-quality Member experience we all expect as soon as possible.

    A lot of times when their regular shoes get leaked it's a controlled leak. <br />
    <br />
    I've been in on a little bit of their product launches (used to work for a vendor of theirs) and know others who have been involved extensively. In there eyes it ruins momentum and reduces the demand for current offerings. While it might create some buzz for next years line, the buzz will die down due to the amount of time until said products launch. The other side is what if they were working on a technology that they were going to release next year and say TM was working on the same technology and not scheduled to release until the following summer. They could then rush a product out ahead of Nike and basically send Nike back to the drawing board. Just another view.<br />
    <br />
    I'm not trying to be argumentative, just trying to put out a different point of view.

    That would make sense. The companies are sooooo good at this that they can do whatever they want just based on strategy. <br />
    <br />
    Leak some photos and get some feedback or nothing then surprise the market.

    In the real world, when a company doesn't want information about something to leak, they have recipients of said information sign an NDA.<br />
    <br />
    If Nike is giving these catalogues to people, without having them sign an NDA, they expect that it's going to get out prematurely... assuming that this is actually "premature," based on their expectations.

    Well considering the people I know had a response to this of "sh!t, that's not good" and "so much for the product launch momentum." I would say they weren't planning on them getting out. Also if you have ever been a purchaser of product, you don't sign an NDA when ordering product for the next year or ask a customer to sign one when ordering. Or to take an exact quote "well, some idiot pro leaves his stupid desktop open and someone gets a stupid screen grab and doesn't care what it does for the brand."<br />
    <br />
    If you want to see a leak follow Sole Collector or Sneaker News<br />
    <br />
    So maybe I don't operate in the real world.

    Their regular shoe lines get leaked all the time and those shoes usually launch to much more fanfare. I don't know how many times I've seen new colorways or new models of shoes release this season for Nike to post a small blurb on the website days after it has been available for sale. I'm not trying to say anyone is wrong anymore, I just wanted to offer a different perspective. I certainly hope this isn't damaging, and I hope that if it is stuff like this doesn't cause the wrong people to get punished, ie a few ruin it for everyone.<br />
    <br />
    <br />
    If it continues to happen it eventually will ruin it for everyone. Also the big model shoes usually have some kind of story tied to them for the Kobe, KD, and LBJ lines, which is why there's hype for every launch, tougher to do this with golf.<br />

    we don't operate in the real world I think we're a little too close to the picture and want things to work the way they were meant to be but obviously that doesn't always go as planned. With that being said I haven't seen one person make an accurate statement about the shoes in the pics since no model names were shown which is a good thing.

    The top white pair are the only ones that intrigue me. It looks like the Flyknit Elite sole. I understand it is a sketch, but I wonder if the Flywire and stitching will be a contrasting color like that. I hope not. <br />

    Thanks for saying what I was thinking. This 'circle the wagons' mentality on Nike's secret launch is ridiculous and childish IMO. Nikes job is to do everything they can to keep things under wraps, while our job is to find out every detail we possibly can, any way we can. <br />
    <br />
    The simple fact is, WE ARE THE BRAND and what makes it the cash cow it is, so nobody here owes any explanations for sharing or leaking whatever they can find. <br />
    <br />
    I'm new here, and it's threads like THIS ONE that convinced me this is where i needed to be.<br />

    Big thanks to the cat who gave us the goods btw, much appreciated.

    They could be new shoes all together or remodeled versions of current shoes that we haven't named. <br />
    <br />
    As for the secrecy thing, being a Nike shareholder; which I'm sure many of us are, you should trust they know how to do a product launch better than anyone on this board.

    When I get my hands on this catalog, and I will this week, I'll be posting the entire thing. That's what this site was founded on if I remember correctly. Spy shots of new golf equipment. I think this qualifies.

    Anyone that has the catalogue knows Mula is right. None of those guesses were correct. Also, I'm pretty sure whoever took that screenshot or gave that catalogue page would not want Nike finding out that it was them. That tells you something right there about whether Nike wants that shared or not, no matter what all the marketing geniuses here think.

    Last thing anyone should want is Nike's legal or loss prevention divisions coming after them.

    When I get my hands on this catalog, and I will this week, I'll be posting the entire thing. That's what this site was founded on if I remember correctly. Spy shots of new golf equipment. I think this qualifies.<br />

    This is true and normally I'd be 100% with you, but I think one of the unique things we have with all the Nike threads on here is that a lot of posters are affiliated with Nike in some manner, either directly or indirectly. Many of them work for Nike or work at golf retail outlets and could get in trouble for posting but are probably just as excited about the new stuff knowing that they've seen it but can't necessarily post it.<br />

    Fortunately, when they get cleared to post, the info is correct. Unfortunately, it probably comes off in a manner not intended by the guys with insider access to Nike. I was lucky enough to have attended the Oven on behalf of WRX, but have no clue about anything coming down the pipe, they're really secretive about their future product, or just don't like me that much, or both <img src='http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
