You were correct to.
And Teterboro too. First time seeing Kirkland balls in store!
The Kirkland 3PC ball was rated #2 behind that vaunted SNELL Golf Ball, on that MY******Y "2019 Golf Ball Buyer's Guide" in the "Truth Digest" "Top Performer/Value" as well as #2 "Top Performer/Wedge Spin" behind the Volvik S4.
Sorry about all the "Apostrophe's" but you know what I mean... 😀
"If it's not one thing it's another and if it's not that it's something else."
The K3 is really the best ball in it's class. It's the ball that you should be playing if you don't want to spend much on balls. The Supersoft is $20+, the Q-Star $20+, The Tour Soft $30, TruFeel $20+. The K3 will eat all of those balls for lunch on performance. It's basically the same cost as the Wilson 50 elite. I personally would rather play Snell, Bridgestone, or Srixon balls; but I'm paying more to do so. If you are really budget conscious I couldn't really recommend you play anything but the K3.
Available online again:
The K3 has been pretty regularly available online for quite a while now, and is finally starting to show up is stores where it had been absent before. However they are again running a free shipping offer if you buy 3 (which was very appealing to me when I couldn't get them in store).
Some guys pointed out that the Pearl Pro X golf ball was the same makeup of the K-sig (black); however, that ball is no longer available on the Pearl website (https://pearlgolf.com/collections/golf-balls). If you click on the ball from the drop-down, you get a 404 error.
Also... The K-sig (silver) has now been readily in-stock at stores in the Bay Area.
So it appears that Titleist's parent company, Acushnet, sees some value in the low priced ball model!
This ball would be much more interesting if it didn't have the non-urethane-cover. I assume the $20/$28 price points are per dzn as well, which seems high for a ball with that type of cover.
Maybe not low priced, but average priced category.
$28 plus shipping cost is not a good deal for a surlyn ball. Too many other established options (many with urethane covers). Can’t see this lasting very long.
Color me as another who found the 3 piece KSig in store. In the Twin Cities, no less. Was surprised.
Grabbed a box on a lark. Going to play a fair bit of retro golf this year, maybe exclusively. I wasn't a balata player in my earlier days, as I didn't start playing golf until the end of the 90s, but I've played quite a few wound balls over the last 10 years. I love the softer feel of balls like the Duo Professional, but they don't quite spin like those balls of yore. I'd been thinking of trying some of the K3 for the heck of it, seeing the display I figured why not.
And my wife agreed. She's awesome.
I live in the Twin Cities area as well and the 3 piece has been available in area stores for months (at least since last summer).
My surprise was only because I hadn't seen them previously. But, I admit I hadn't bothered to pay attention to whether the balls were there or not, they weren't on my radar. 🙂
And, I just assumed that over winter in MN, there wouldn't be much golf related product in the warehouse. LOL
Orland Park Il has had the K3 for quite awhile now. Was in yesterday and the have replenished the supply. Full pallet. Also had a full pallet of the Callaway Hex tour soft. But no gloves
I was pretty shocked when I saw them for the first time in our store in November or December. Not exactly peak golf season in Ohio and seemed like an odd time to start taking up shelf space with them. And IIRC, when they first came in they were at the front of the store for all to see when walking in and have since been moved. Seems it would have made more sense to do that in March or April.
I had a lesson this weekend with the pro at my local club. I was warming up before hand and had to do a double take. Lo and behold, there was an original Ksig mixed in with the range balls.
i still have 8 dozen of the original ksig 4 piece sitting in the boxes in my golf closet that i haven't bothered to bust out and play. I love trying out new balls, and last year I bought a lot of the zstar xv when they were cheap and the prov1x with some tournament credit. i really like both of them but that original 4 piece stacks up well from my memory so i guess i need to get them out so some people can find them in the woods/water and have their own chance to play the original.
I really like the kirkland gloves too
The K3 is in stock in West Des Moines. As is a double dozen of the Tour Soft for $29.99.
I'm a new Costco member (6 months) and I love the Kirkland Signature brand, especially their "Vita Rain" water (for Vitamin Water). The only Kirkland product I haven't been impressed with is their protein bars, which are more like a slice of molded cookie dough than a bar.
Protein bars have a pretty low bar when it comes to taste so those must be especially bad! Their frozen pizza tastes like trash as well.
I also am a big fan of the Vita rain, probably half the price of vitamin water
I actually think it's better than the Vitamin Water. At least the sugar free kind is.
The taste isn't bad. It's the texture and having to basically peel the wrapper off the bar. This past weekend, Costco had the bars made by some Food Channel personality on sale ($5 cheaper than the KS) and those are really good. (Robert Irvine's FitCrunch is the name of the bar. Highly recommended!)
Based on this comment and reviews on the Costco website, it sounds like Costco is knocking off Quest bars. There are a few Quest flavors that I love (Cookies & Cream and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough). But, I hate most of the others. As far as being "healthy" is concerned, the nutritionist who works with my doctor thinks very highly of Quest and recommends them. I typically keep them in the refrigerator which makes them a little less chewy. I think that I'll give the Costco Cookies & Cream a shot, given that Quest bars cost about 50% more than the Costco version (about $1.50 each at Amazon, including a 15% subscribe & save discount for Quest vs $1.00 each for Costco).
any gossip yet for another release of the 4pc? im down to 6dz and starting to get nervous lol
i so hope we see the new K4 back, really liked it, just that darn cover.....ugh
I doubt there will be any advance notice prior to the KP1 simply showing up on the website again, and possibly an e-mail to members. I have faith it will return, but whether couldn't hazard a guess as to when. I'm sure Costco will want to be 100% confident in the manufacturing process and QC before rolling them out again. I won't give up hope in the ball's reappearance as long is it's maintained on the conforming ball list.
Speaking of the conforming list, I just checked and it is still there. But it lists the manufacturer as "SM Global LLC", the same as the KP+. Am I wrong in thinking they had different manufacturers at one point?
If they stay on track, look for a release around April 8. Not that I know anything other than Costco's history.
That is just the entity that submitted the entry to the USGA, not always the manufacturer. As mentioned earlier in this thread, SM Global is Costco’s overseas logistics partner (no exclusive relation to the golf industry).
Return of Ksig with green limited edition to give big f.u. to all!
