Callaway pre-owned

I know I have read it several times, but can't find it on search tool, but many have had great things to say about callaway pre owned and the condition of their clubs. When I go to their site and looking to buy, how different is it from like new, very good and good. I thought I read somewhere that good was basically brand new on some clubs. Let me know if you have purchased and in what conditions did the club come in. Thanks

There is a "View Condition Guide" button at the top of the club listings that describes the condition. I have bought a few times from them and have to say I was pleased with the condition which was usually under the "good" heading

Anything that I have ever purchased from CPO, has always looked better than described!

My recent order from them was rated "very good" and it was above my expectation at that rating. I would have rated it excellent.

I'll echo the sentiment here used it a few times everything I have gotten has met or exceeded expectations

Same as others have said. Bought a driver and fairway wood from Callaway preowned. Both better than described. Driver looked like it had been barely hit. I believe they were rated as good or very good condition.

I've bought 4 clubs from them. Two were other brands in very good condition. They were played but not abused.

The other two were marked like new. I've read many times you usually get brand new clubs in the wrapper. Mine were not. One was a fairway wood. It was hit but I'd describe as perhaps "shop worn". I was fine with it.

The other was an Odyssey putter that had 3, inch long deep scratches on the top of the putter of all places. I sent it back immediately.

One of the cool things about CPO is the fact that the guy who determines their condition/grade has been there for years. He goes out of his way to make certain things are underrated. If it says "Like New" in reality it is - new that is. Even their "Average" is awesome.

And best of all is their guarantee. Buy it, take delivery, and examine it - if you don't like it they will take it back.

If you, like many here (myself included) are a big fan of Callaway, CPO is the best thing going.

I bought a set of TM RSi1 irons from CPO. Rated very good. They looked brand new to me.

For a putter or driver I might pay the extra for a higher rating but cast irons are going to look "good" after a few rounds no matter what condition you buy them in.

Bought several like new items from them and they were actually brand new with stickers.

I've bought "like new" wedges, drivers, and fairways from CPO and they were all brand new. A "very good" driver I got looked like it was hit twice and the only evidence of that was a white tee mark that swiped off.

My like new items still had plastic FWIW

Have purchased two clubs from them graded "Average" and they both exceeded expectations for their condition. Wasn't worried ordering from them since I've heard almost entirely positive praise in these forums. Plus they have a 90 day return policy, though I'm not sure of the specifics. Both of the clubs came with red generic head covers, that are adequate. I actually like them a good bit as they match the red on my Callaway bag.

I recommend them and enjoyed dealing with them over the phone since I was unable to get my free shipping code to work online. It didn't hurt that they arrived the next day as I'm only a couple of hours from Austin.

I've bought 2 or 3 clubs from them and agree with everything said above. I've also recommended them to friends who have all been very pleased. Buy with confidence.

I bought a value stage 2 hybrid with not much intention of using the head. I was more interested in the shaft. So I was expecting the white chips to be everywhere on the head. Nope, instead I got a dented and cracked head. I think the club had just slipped through the cracks (no pun intended). Needless to say CPO went above and beyond to make it right. I will never stop recommending them!

I got my Xhot 2 Pro driver from CPO, was supposed to be like new, but there is a dent on the crown towards the heel. Not big, doesn't bother me.

I've bought many things from CPO and been extremely happy overall...mostly buy "like New" and probably 90% arrive in wrapper. One wedge I bought had a "rash" on the bottom, covered up by their inventory sticker, looked new otherwise. Only other thing I've encountered is that the same club in identical condition can sell for significantly less on their eBay site - have to look for it. They are a great place.

I bought a 'like new' XR Driver. It had plastic on the head and the grip.

It was never hit. I don't know how it could have been based on the grip still being wrapped in the factory shrinkwrap.

I always go "very good" and it's better than expected.

I bought a average condition wedge and it showed up new in the plastic.

I ordered a "good" condition XR 5 wood and received it in what I would say was "very good" condition. It may have been hit a couple times at a shop, but it clearly never made it out on a course. I would definitely order from them again.

Edit: The vast majority of reviews that I've read for them...the people say that their clubs were AT LEAST one grade better than described. There's the occasional bad experience, but most seem to be pretty positive. I read a LOT of reviews before I decided to order from them.

I bought Mack daddy wedges for $34 shipped. I bought one in average shape over Labor Day $40 shipped and it showed up new in the plastic.

It's funny

the only time I ever have issues with CPO is when I order like new. They always send their stuff with the covers off and no protection, and more often then not something happens to the heads (especially putters) during shipping

They're great to deal with when that happens though.

Whenever I buy used stuff, it usually looks better than I expect though LOL

Best used site out there IMO
