Same as a lot here.. 7 or 8 for 150 yards. Depends on pin placement and conditions (wind, green slope, etc).

9 iron, but does it really matter if you can hit a 9 iron or a 5 iron if you can hit the green, just saying

I, too, can hit any club in my bag 150...topped driver, 4w, hybrid...fat 4I and 5I. Normal 6I, knuckleball 7I. Thinned/bladed 8I-LW. I'm versatile like that. Isn't that supposed to be a skill? Hit any club a particular distance?

Play Ping G10's and usually my 7 iron is my 150 club but sometimes my 6i depending on how I'm hitting that day. Like the above poster, sometimes it's my driver also.

Last time I played, it was a 9. Haven't played in a while due to injury, so I'm guessing it's probably a 7 or 8 now.

Okay, I'll play too. My 150 club is my PW (level with no wind, of course). Pretty strong at 46 degrees. Adams XTD forged with stiff c-tapers. With my old irons it was the 9 iron. The c-tapers have done wonders for me. I hit a very high ball with my irons, but they kill some of the spin so I get a bit more carry than I did with DGs.

Adams Tech V4, stiff
7iron = 32* = 145 yards carry
Medium - low trajectory.

Just bought a set of Adams XTD forged with C-taper 110 regular flex shafts (+1/2"). Did the C-tapers lower your flight from the DGs?

Also how is the feel (smooth / harsh)?

75% 9 iron or nuke pitching wedge.
Right in between clubs for me. My clubs are bent weak to more "traditional" lofts P is 47*, 9 is 43*.

So your full 9 is over 185? Great humble brag. Well done. Even got in the sticks are weak!

No Helmut. Full 9 is 156-158 at 90%. I say "full" at 90% because I try never to go 100% with the irons unless it's out of the rough or some unusual lie that requires it.

I'm just answering the question like everyone else.. It's really not meant to be a brag. Im sure there are plenty of guys on this site longer.
so if you say that you never go 100% at your irons then why would you say "or nuke pitching wedge"?

7 is like 155-160. 8 is like 145. So I generally take the extra club with the 7 and choke down a little.

Depending on the pin and what a good miss is, 150 is an 8-iron for me on the fairway.

Off the tee, 9-iron.

My 150 yard club is a 9 iron (Ben Hogan 1999 Apex blades) at my home course (Fort Collins, CO @ 5,000 ft elevation). At sea level I will use an 8 iron. There is about 1 club difference between sea level and at mile high altitude.

This depends upon the conditions, but my “150” club is a 9i which I carry 145 on the driving range. Ends up anywhere up to 160 depending upon green firmness.
