Srixon z565

Is there anyone out there that likes the older model more than these new ones? I am narrowed down to z565 or taylormade psi. I just wanted to know if anyone thought the 545 were better because you can find them pretty cheap now. Also I hear the 745 are closer to the new 565 is this true? Because they are now cheaper too. Any info would help greatly and if you have hit both psi and srixon let me know. There are no srixon dealers near me so I've only hit the psi. Thanks

It's a shame the popularity of Srixon is smaller in the US. I just got the Ping G's a month ago but the 565s have gotten my interest up I just can't afford them. Was hoping to find the 545s for cheaper on eBay but there just isn't a large market and finding any without the DG shaft (too heavy for my liking) or the ns 950(too light) is just not out there.

I have not compared them. But, I can easily say the Z545's are the best irons I have ever played. I can't even guess how they improved on them enough to warrant paying an extra $400 for new models.

Played 545 for 1.5 years now and have played most similar segment irons. Additional I own PXG Darks. To be very honest I play the 545's much more than the PXG's. Aside from the badges that have fell out and replaced by Srixon and the unique AW situation, 545's are exceptional.

... After playing 588 TT's for a season I was looking forward to playing 565's in 2017. But for my tastes, the 565 short irons have an unappealing hosel transition, a too long and rounded toe and more offset then the 545's. They just don't look good at all to my eye, so I will pick up a set of 545's instead.

So does anyone have a review or even mini review of the 565s? I'm disappointed with my recent purchase of Mizzy 900 forged and will likely pull the trigger on the 565s soon. 900 f perform vey well for me but the feel is poor at best. I currently game 2013 Cally X forged but need a bit more forgiveness , distance and the v sole looks very appealing to me. Would the 565s fit the bill,,or maybe even the 765s??? For those that have played the Srixons please respond.

do you have a link to that deal? can't find it

You have to keep checking the "Deal or no deal" section out here. People post some good deals often. The sale was over last night. Here was my original thread about it.

I played the 850 forged before I went to the z745 irons. I originally wanted the 850s as they're forged and should be more forgiving than the irons I played before them. Funny you say that about the 900s cause I found the 850s to feel hard and clicky. Mizuno makes some nice looking irons but I have never been impressed by the feel of any I have played. I sold the 850s cheap to a buddy who is a mizuno guy and he loves them but I could not be happier with my 745s. They're as forgiving for me and feel 1000 times better than the 850f. I don't like the looks of the 65s as much as the 45s, and I just can't see there being a drastic enough improvement to justify paying more. The 745s are the best irons I have ever played, I love everything about them. For $449 new, there's not a much better deal out there!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

On track man the z545 went a tad farther and had better dispersion using the same steel fiber i95 stiff shafts. Now compared to the z765 set that I just got built using existing steel fiber shafts I got a little more distance over the z545 but much better dispersion and feel.

Hello - don't the 545's carry a stronger loft than the 765's? I think its 2*...

i'd love to hear more opinions on the 545 and 745 vs 565 from those who have had or hit both from real grass. my standard miss is slightly fat, so anything to help me there is what i'm after. thanks

Hello - I play the 545's and think they are amazing.

I also have 745s in a 6 & 7 iron for lessons and yes they are easy too hit. The 545 just makes playing effortless, they are that forgiving.
