I like have separation for the clubs, seem to get less bag chatter. I've got the Mizuno Pro 14 way stand bag from last year. It's pretty solid.

Ordered a hoofer 14 way and SM 4.5 14 way from the DSG black Friday deal with the intent of comparing them and returning the loser, of course the hoofer was lost in transport so I don't have them both in hand yet. Anyone else compared them, and if so, which one won out and why? From what I can tell the main differences are:

    1. SM has full length dividers/hoofer doesn't

    2. Hoofer works nicely in carts while the SM will spin due to protruding stand mechanism

If that's really all then it will be a tough call because they're both nice looking bags.

Hated 14 way. Too much clanking and chatter when walking or driving. Too much time searching for that clubs own spot. I prefer 6 or 7 but 4 is all sun mountain does unless you go to a smaller bag than a 3.5.

This. I had a SM 4.5 14 way for a while and thought I would like it. But agree it increased the iron chatter to the point where I couldn't stand it.

So genuinely curious, do you feel like there is more rattle/chatter with 14 or regular 4/5 way? I have a nike air hybrid 14 way...and feels like there’s ton of chatter compared to my old ping hoofer. Is it just me?

You are not alone. Irons nest better in 4/5 way bags. Get rid of the head covers and get a towel and weave it between your clubs. It will help.

14 way Ogio Cirrus for riding. 4 way Ping Hoofer for "Hoofin' it".

    This gets my vote.

If the number of drivers/woods/hybrids that you carry totals 4, then I suggest the Ogio Wood-e system.

An individual slot for 4 long-sticks and another for the putter. 3 larger slots for the irons and wedges.

I always liked Ogio’s wood system when I am in the drivers seat of the cart. Then the woods are on the inside. But if I’m in the passenger seat then I had to reach over the woods to get to the irons.

Hate 14 way bags. Put up with a hoofer 14 for about 18 months, and the bag noise of the clubs clanking against each other drove me mad. Also, the grips liked to snag somewhere in the bag at any opportunity. 4 way is far superior.

Prefer cart bag...easier to get to pockets using with a pull cart. I don't really care if bag is 4/divider or 14/15 holes as long as I can get clubs in and out of bag easily without the rubber grips getting all jammed up and tangled.

I primarily walk and have always had a 4-5way stand. Had two Hoofers over the course of 20yrs and then I grabbed a TM a couple years ago to try something different. I was looking at the 14ways for better organization but the bag chatter you guys are talking about is scaring me away for now.

I had a 14-way stand bag for about a minute. Hated the weight, hated the way the clubs looked in it, and hated the chatter. Not to mention, you put 14 full length dividers in any stand bag, you are going to have binding from grips on the divider fabric. This brings me to my next epiphany I’ve had over the last few years with bags.

Full length dividers suck. They contribute to the club tangle that people complain about. The SM 2.5 and Jones Player bags I’ve had made me recognize this. This is definitely more true of 4/6 way than 14-way, and probably less true of a single divider vs 4. However, you put 2-4 clubs in each smaller space surrounded by fabric and pulling out your clubs will be a nightmare. Put 14 clubs in a bigger space with less fabric and the other clubs will have room to move away when you pull that stick.

I've tried to switch, but I just cannot get away from Ogio's "Woode" top system. It just seems to organize the clubs so well.

I just recently bought the Callaway hyperlite 5 stand bag 7 way as I wanted a smaller bag for the push cart. The top is just a little small for 12 clubs just ordered the sun mountain 4.5 4 way. I'll keep the hyperlite as a Sunday bag.

Just ordered a Titleist Players 14 stand bag to try out... first time that Titleist has made a 14 way with full length dividers to my knowledge. I'm going to see how it stacks up against my current gamer, a 7-8 year old Titleist 6-way stand bag.

The club tangle since switching to midsize grips 3 years ago is driving me crazy.

I really wanted to get this bag, but the divider system didn't accommodate a mallet style putter very well

I just switched from a Mizuno 14 way (with only 4 full length dividers) to the Sun Mountain 4.5 LS with 14 full length dividers. It's amazing. No clubs getting stuck together trying to pull them out, and no more trying to force them down back into the bag either. It's perfect. Best bag I've ever owned, and I've owned five bags over the last eight years (one Callaway, one Ogio, two Mizuno, now this Sun Mountain).

Finally got this bag in. It's a nice bag.... BUT....... IT DOES NOT HAVE 14 FULL LENGTH DIVIDERS. It has 14 top dividers and 3 or 4 full length dividers, which is a bummer. It's eliminated about 3/4 of the club tangle, but I find it disappointing as I SWEAR I read it was 14 full length dividers. I'm still trying to figure out the pockets and organization, as it's a lot different than my old Titleist stand bag.

As you can tell by my many posts/questions, I had the choice recently. I ended up ordering a Callaway Fusion 14 stand bag with my club logo.

After knee replacement, I won't be walking and carrying very much. I'll mostly ride, but occasionally may use a push cart on easy walking courses. I like stand bags, though, for travel and especially for use at the driving range. I think this one will be the best compromise between my desire for a lightweight stand bag, but my use mostly on carts.

Ended up hating the 14-way stand bag. Gave it away to my Dad, and ordered a Titleist 4-way stand bag.

14 way is a pain, can’t stand it. Just bought a TM SLDR TP cart bag (mini staff bag). I hate not having a vertical handle on the back of the club and a strap on the back of the bag. So the brand new TEE cart bag is going in the basement

Been looking for a bag for a while now...pulled the trigger yesterday...Hoofer 14.

Took it home, started transferring clubs...within 15 minutes, I took them back out, and returned the bag.

I can't believe people like these 14 way dividers (maybe in an upright cart bag?)...every time I went to pull out or push in a club, it got stuck...total pita. Plus, the club next to the padding/rainhood slot always got jammed.

Ended up getting a 2017 Taylormade FlexTech in red with white details...$109.99 plus tax....

Will write review later this summer after a few rounds.

    Thanks everyone.
