New Recoil Wedge Proto

Just got my set of Recoil Wedge Protos out of the box from Peoples. Thought I would take a moment to post a picture.

Hit a home run in my opinion. Flat Matte black. The originals were attractive but if you just look at them the wrong way they scratch or chip. I have one of the original ones in a 56 vokey right now and I love it, other than the finish being beat to hell. Hopefully these should prove much better wearing. I'm putting them in a set of vokey SM6's today. 50, 56, 60. I'll report back on wear in a few weeks if anyone seams interested. Unfortunately running out of golf weather here in Ohio. : (

Oh yeah...sorry. Specs. Duh.

128 grams at 37" raw length. 2.2 torque. Mid-high kick. Only in F5 extra stiff only at the moment. They just came out this week.

They correspond to somewhere between S400 and X100 in stiffness to me. That's not really scientific. Just based on my experience using those old staples over 25+ years. I'm getting early onset arthritis in my hands and wrists from both genetics and so much abuse over the years. I'm a digger. I need the shock absorption provided by the graphite to help soften the blow. I even throw a sensicore in them for a little extra deadening. REALLY helps. Some people might actually think too much so. Some people would say they feel a little "dead" I suppose. To me it feels like more practice time.

There is currently a picture of the shaft with the old graphics. You must send them an email through the "contact" form and ask them specifically for the new all matte black version. It literally just came out this Monday. You can also ask for a special price if you get a set of 3 shafts. I'd prefer not to say what I got them for, but it was quite good. They will usually throw in 3 grips as well. Very Nice extra. Will,...as in Will Peoples, will generally get back to you himself.

Do you play the prototypes or the standard recoil? the prototypes have lower torque and a slightly higher kick point to keep the flight down than the standard recoil 125.

These are the same specs as the 125 recoil prototypes. They just have the new flat black paint scheme.

Those are some sexy looking shafts! I want to do Recoils in my set but they are just so damn expensive for me. Can't yet convince the wife that I "need" them more than I "want" them.

If you are just talking about doing a set of 3 or 4 for the wedges like I did, send an email to Will and ask him for a package price. I think you'll be surprised. And hey, Christmas is right around the corner. Just the right time to do a little crafty negotiating with the wife.

Interested to hear your thoughts. They look great, and I'm in the market for new wedge shafts.
