Currently use one in my fairway. It's like a higher launching, higher spinning version of the black...stiff butt and mid but a softer tip. I really like it as a fairway shaft.

I'm interested in trying a Red too.

Does it still feel boardy like the black? I've read it has a nice smooth kick through impact?

How would u compare it to a rogue black?

Tried the black, yellow and red before picking the yellow for my 3w. Really liked the red of the deck but since i play my 3w in 13* and only from the tee I want with yellow for the lower launch and cb effect so I could add some more weight to the head and still keep a nice sw. If you're gonna use it off the deck as well I'd say red is the best option unless you hit it really high

It feels a lot more active compared to the black and yellow. I dont know if I would call the black boardy though, sure its really stable but I still got a good feel for it. Flex is really important with these shaft. They do play one flex stronger than stated with the more stable tip so maybe you tried the black in a flex too high?

Iirc it was a 6.0 which is what I was told based on my load and SS

Been a while since I spent any time with a Rogue Black so i can't really compare. I do agree with the others that say the Red feels more loose than the Black. It still has a firm feel under the hands but the tip is noticeably softer and gives a feeling of more kick. I think the Red is a great fairway shaft for people and could be a good driver shaft for a smoother swinger.

I’ve got the Red 6.5 75 gram in an F7 3 wood and it’s been in and out of the bag for 4 years.

Its firmly back in. Probably better suited for a swinger. Not loose but solid performer and smooth. Does NOT feel anything like the black, but I do like the black in a driver.

The Red is just a great fairway shaft.

I have a few rounds with the 75 at 5.5 in my driver playing at 45". I don't have a swing weight but it feels heavy. Very stable shaft and I like low torque so it suits me well. I do not find the flight to be high at all, actually very penetrating with a geadual ascent and then descent. It does not over spin it and I haven't had issues with it going left. I actually like it quite a bit and couldn't imagine going to the black with my 100mph as if it's even more low launch.

I’ve been playing the 75s Red in my F6 baffler since the red came out. It’s definitely a great fairway shaft. I tried the 65x in a Cobra driver a few years back and it was good, but not great or better than what I was playing. But my Baffler and Red pairing isn’t leaving my bag until it breaks.

Hi guys, great thread.

I picked up a HZRDUS red handcrafted 65 in 6.0 on sale last weekfrom our big box store up here in Canada. (Crazy week, I also grabbed a G400 max and an Original One as I’m rebuilding the top of my bag.)

Logic says that I should put the Red in one of the new drivers, but my current wild impulse is to try it untipped in my G30 5 wood head. (With the Originalone, I am not intending to carry a 3w.)

Just curious on thoughts. Would this light weight and slightly lower flex from being untipped possibly create a secret weapon in a high flying 5 wood? Would the 62 g weight be too lightin the 5?

Is it a waste of a shaft that rightfully belongs in one of those other drivers?

Thanks, good points. It will makes sense to try it in the driver first. Also as I use Winn Excel grips which are parallel, choking down is a pretty good representation.

IT also occurs to me that I have several driver shafts around from the last 5 years of playing G30s that already have the right adapters, so I should be able to experiment with the 5 wood without cutting the new guy yet.

Thx

Finally got out with the HZRDUS on the G400. It felt really stable. Definitely much more controllable for me than the stock shaft. Certainly a great fit for me and my swing. Was able to hit nice high balls that seemed to climb and go way out to the end of the range. I’m going to really like this shaft/head combo. Honestly I had no idea a shaft made that much of a difference.

Now I need to find the fairway equivalent for the new g410 5 wood I picked up

Just got a deal on the F85 Srixon fairways. They have this shaft in 62 gram as stock. They only had 5.5 and with pandemic I couldn't demo. I can probably tape it and hit at the range.

Before doing so I am wondering if this should be adequately stiff. Driver swing in the 98 to 104 range. Usually play irons in an R+or stiff if lighter ( Nippon in stiff ,KBS tour in R+)

My driver and 3 wood both are stiff one being Hzrdus smoke yellow and ping tour 75. Those I tend to hit straight with slight fade.

I am of belief hit softest you can control. Question is will I be able to control this. I have read the black and red plays a bit strong to flex so this might be like a soft stiff...

Would love opinions on the 5.5 !

Srixon paired them because it's a good setup for slow swingers who don't have the strength to swing heavier combinations. If that sounds like you it may work well but you can't know for sure without trying it. Hzrdus plays stiff to flex but a 5.5 in that weight is still very soft for someone swinging over 100mph.

Bumping this.  I am having real success with the hybrid shafts and was considering giving this a shot in a fairway wood.  Open to comments for and against.
