Those fairways look nice but I'm not sure they'll perform much better than any of their current offerings. Be looking forward to some comparisons.

The fairway woods are really good but I'll agree with you to an extent. You won't see massive gains like you will with the driver over the XR16 and 816 fairways because of the lack of jailbreak on the Epic fairways.

However, to contradict what I just said the fairway wood is where I saw the most improved performance simply because I was poorly fit to my previous model. I was always a 4 wood guy because I felt I needed help getting the ball airborne. Nick laughed at the thought of me wanting a 4 wood and told me he didn't want me in anything over 13.5* because I actually spun the fairways a lot. We settled on 14* and my spin dropped like a rock and my launch was in a good window and I picked up Something like 15 yards.

I'm going to get one of the Epic fws but not sure which. I'm either going with the SZ 15° and turn it down to 14°, the SZ 13.5° or go with the regular 13.5°. My miss is a hook so I'm kind of worried about the draw bias of the regular one but I hit it in GG the other day and really liked the look at address and feel of it. When you guys tried them, how would you rate the forgiveness of the SZ vs the regular one? And how easy was it to launch the SZ with the weight back?

Edit: Also, how do they compare to the 816 Alpha fw?

I didn't get to hit the epic fairways due to my being an evil lefty. But based on the feedback from everyone I'm happy with my XR pro, I hit it really well and the gap with driver is 20yds. So it serves it's purpose

I had the XR 16's. I think the Epic's perform better overall. Even though the XR 16's were regular flex, and the Epic's are stiff flex, I am able to launch the ball higher with the latter and get more distance.

I was not, but i like to think i professionally fitted myself.

Callaway ended up fitting me into the same loft, length, and a newer version of the same shaft i was using

Gerritt suggested I go with the Diamana Blue 80X in my 20* hybrid since I love the 60X in the driver and the 70X in the 3 wood.

It was a great suggestion as my Apex hybrid has become one of my favorite clubs in the bag.

So my 909, 910 and my 915 were all fit for me.

Went to go get fit for a SZ today and no matter what I tried it wasn't beating my JPX-900. I was ready to buy this thing too as I was hitting it - It felt really really good, loved the sound, and the numbers as the fitter was reading them sounded nice. I knew they weren't mind blowing, but I imagined they'd be slightly better than the 900 once I got that on the monitor.

Well I hopped on the monitor with the 900 and every number you'd look for was superior - ball speed, spin, carry, dispersion. So I said ok let me hit the SZ again now that I'm rolling... nope still nothing.

I will say I hit both the new M1/M2 and the SZ blew those out of the water. They weren't even in the same area code.

P.S. Want to add that I personally thought the Rogue Max and the T800 HZRDS were both trash. I have decent swing speed and was seeing 170 ball speed from the SZ once properly fit into an appropriate shaft (Two best options were my current gamer Fuji MS 7.2 TS and the AD-TP 7X).

It sounds like you found the driver that fits you the best.

This was the first time I have been fitted for a driver. All the other times, I grabbed a head I liked and used trial and error for the shaft.

I liked the Chrome X. It was a little firmer than the standard Chrome soft. I like a firmer ball, especially with an insert putter. I can see me playing this ball this year. It should be great in the summer

I wore shorts for the testing, there wasn't any logic, the temperature there is right in that range where you could wear either.

I'm glad I had pants on for the torrey round given where I hit it. Since the chance of a snake bite was quite high where my balls ended up.

I enjoy wearing pants to play. Living in Houston I'm usually in shorts so when it's in the 60s I go with pants.

Unfortunately no. High 30s and rain. It will get up to the low 40s though. I played last Wednesday (mid-40s, but very windy), the course was extremely soggy. I was at our driving range today, and it's covered with anywhere from puddles to tiny ponds. :-)

I hope you are playing. :-)

That was a heck of a game. I was pulling for the Cowboys.
