Build a 3H to go along with my F7 One-length Cobras

I have gamed the new F7 One-lengths (37.25", D0) a couple days and it looks promising, but I need a 3 or equivalent. I would rather not have a 5w, and 38.5"-39" would be better than 40.5" for the transition.

I hear the Callaway XR is a "hot" hybrid: it is a D1 at 40.5 w/58gr shaft. Losing 12 swing weight points sounds like a bad idea at 38.5" or 9 at 39"

I have hit and liked the previous model, Fly-Z 3-4 Hybrid D2.5 at 40.5 w/75gr shaft

Suggestions? Heavy shaft? Steel shaft? Go fly a kite? :)

My recommendation would be to try a Wishon 775hs through a custom club fitter. I think they could get you where you need to for a seamless transition between the cobras and a hybrid.

As you know, 1.5 inch cut to shorten club length drops swing weight by 12 points. Fly-Z (which you like) would drop from D2.5 to C9.5. As the club has an adjustable hosel, easy hot melt access and only need to add enough for .5 swing weight point to get back to D0, same as irons. As total weight has variance from the mfg, if you found a Fly-Z at D3, it might even work out to D0 with no hot melt. Unfortunately Cobra did not make the back sole weight adjustable like the driver and fw, you could add yarn just for swing weight feel and determine if you like it at D0 before hot melt. King F6 hybrid has adjustable head weight and starts at D2, but the Cobra optional head weight screw is lighter, not heavier from stock. Cobra King F6 fw has a 20 gram weight, not sure if it will fit the hybrid, Cobra Tech support should be able to answer via a phone call.

Forgot, when you shorten the hybrid, you will have a more flatter lie angle than stock and I don't think you can bend a hybrid hosel
