I really want to like Wilson Golf but...

...they are really pissing me off. I've been waiting for a very long time for their website to be updated with the FG Tour V6 irons. I had a chance to hit them and they are oh so sweet. It seems that from the time that all of the media outlets first wrote their stories about the clubs to the time that the website was updated was extremely long. So now the website has been updated there is hardly any information. No specs, stock shaft info (I know it's the AMT), grip info, custom shaft options...nothing. Come on Wilson get your act together!

I always hated their website, but their irons and wedges are just amazing(and a bargain compared to many OEMs), so I can forgive the website issues.

the Australian site seems to have the info you are looking for:

http://www.wilson.com/en-au/golf/irons/feel/3101787/#specifications

Agree with Bunkersarebigcups - Wilson Staff make great irons. If I ever get sick of my MX-200's I will be looking seriously at what Wilson Staff has to offer.

Great clubs. Marketing on the other hand...

Terrible marketing. Fat shaft... deep red... Its about differentiation, sure, but somehow they haven't executed it right. Good clubs, though.

Wilson makes great irons (woods mehhh) but unfortunately their parent company Amer Sports doesn't give enough attention to that brand but instead of focusing of its other more profitable brands (Arc'teryx, Solomon) and treated like the Black Sheep of their family. I wish Amer would increase their marketing and website budget so they could be at least on par with the Callways, Taylormades, Pings, and Titleists.

10.5 deg Titleist 905R with stock UST Proforce V2 Shaft (Stiff flex)
Titleist 990 (3-PW) with stock Dynamic Gold in S300

2011 Adams Tom Watson signature wedges in 52 and 56 degrees with stock steel shafts (Player's Grind)

Just shows you how unorganized Wilson golf is. Their online presence is definitely 2 steps back compared to other OEM's.

Their popularity is just not what it used to be for sure. I think they just released their new D300 line this week & it barely caused a blip on the golf consumer radar. I've seen pics & the driver/woods & they are just plain ugly with those little bumps on top. I might pick up a Triton driver when the price falls under $200...probably by end of year.

There irons and wedges are as good as any in the market, bar none. As for the woods, the F5 Tour series is a great line, especially with the adjustability factor and weights that are changeable. Agreed that their marketing - advertising is lacking, but when a product is good it'll sell itself. Just wish more folks had the opportunity to try the new products. I've still got a d100 driver that blew everything I put against it out of the water when it hit the market. So yes, WS makes great products.... ya just gotta try them for yourself. ? years and STILL going and getting stronger every year.!!! That alone speaks volumes. Sure if they offered up all the "tee itbup money" they'd get more airtime, but then again they'd be tanking like a few of the "others"! ✌️Hit the well when ya get the opportunity!!

Actually, because of a couple of things: I can actually hit the clubs. Tons of demos and fitting carts over here in Germany. Srixon (for example) has its closest fitting centre for me in the UK...

Plus: Unbeatable price point, better feel than Titleist forgings, I like the looks and feel of them AND (this is the biggest point for me) the still make a 47* PW in a forgiving forged iron.

I agree with you with the exception of the sell itself part. I live in the 5th largest city in California and nowhere within 150 miles is a shop that has a Wilson iron in it. So when I turn to their website for info on a new product launch and there is none, it's frustrating. I'm not a business or marketing guy but this can't be the recipe for success. Maybe I'll wait a couple years and buy them for $300 new like some recently did with the V4's. Or maybe I'll continue status quo and never give them a shot, no matter how good they are.

There has been a good number of threads regarding Wilson clubs. Like many have said before, it can be difficult to find them in the b/m stores. Why is this? - only Wilson can verify the reasons why.

The average joe (who might be an avid golfer) is not going to seek out their products if there are no superstar endorsements and he can't find them to hit.

I know a few golf buddies who equate quality based on what they see advertised and they insist Wilson clubs are crap. Have they actually hit them? No.

Last year, I went to a golf demo where both Wilson and Srixon had their products. After hitting a few Srixon clubs (hit well btw), my buddy turns to me and says he would not buy a Srixon club because he knows nothing about them and he is not sure he could trust them. I just ignored the comment (in a diplomatic way).

Sorry to hear nowhere within 150 miles has W/S for you to try ! Not surprising since you're in the "fan boy" land of TM and Cally .... just kidding. Just to show you I asked local rep bout a "demo" set of the FG100s but was told he didn't have any, but..... was blown away at what I could get them for new. Now that's what I call customer service. I agree it's frustrating to want to test equipment but they do offer the trial for a little of nothing in the irons, who else offers that deal? Hear people on here all the time ordering demos to try! There's an option open to you and anyone else if people are "Seriously" wanting to try the products. Edwin Watts was a great place in Nashville to try the products that sold me on W/S, then I found their products at a local nine hole course rightt under my nose! Sold on them every since. I try and try but so far, nothing can knock my FG17s outta the bag. Best of luck to you all!!

Screw Wilson.....

STAFF makes a blade and MCB second to none

Yea, the yoyos at the top couldn't get it right if ya spotted them r..i..g..h..

I just wanted the clubs then I could care less. If they needed adjustments, I either did em myself or had one of the guys in the shop do em.

I feel for ya Bro but once you get em in the bag, you'll forget about the jerkoffs at corporate

It's like goin with a world class surgeon who's a dick-

Ya live with the personal shortcomings for the professional performance-

Same with Staff

Ya live with the minor irritations and inconveniences for the performance

I wish ya the best and enjoy the irons when you get them?️

All the Best,

Richard

Imagine if they took the time and money they invested in Driver vs. Driver and focused instead on their website? Then maybe the consumer could get actual information about their new products. Novel concept, I know.

This is so true - the forgings feel fantastic and the PW is still a pw while the offset is minimal and still a players profile without compromising some solid forgiveness, great chasis and execution; wedges too

Nice point of view!

Here's another.... What is one of the fastest growing and largest sources of information on new clubs? YouTube. Yet reviews on Wilson Staff products are nowhere to be found. Check Crossfield or Shiels. They review all the other major OEM releases, but nothing from WS. The reason isn't because they are bias against WS, it is simply because WS doesn't send them the clubs. Mind-boggling. Even worse when one considers that WS market share is much higher in the UK and Europe than in the US. But, hey, do another THP event that pampers 12 guys.

I could give two flying ***** about a web sight, lmao

A golf club is something I've gotta hold, feel with my hands and swing-

I'm not saying that I would never order a club off the internet though I have not to date, but I'd rather a company spend their money on their R&D and clubs versus a world class web sight-

But then again I judged my swing by my divot and ball flight so WTF do I know?

Stay well BroMeisters??

My Best,

RP

LMAO, yea, like I'm in any position to insult guys at Staff and I can't even respond on a friggin golf board, lol.

That YouTube video is a great idea!

Is producing one of those videos expensive?
