I am usually excited when a new product comes out.I am in the market for a new set of irons.Looking at new irons from Mizuno,Srixon and Ping.I was waiting for more info to come out on the new irons from Taylormade. When I saw the info posted on the new p750 and p770 I was excited. Then I noticed the suggested retail price now I am not so excited.Have to wait and see the reviews I guess.

Yeah, 1600.00 for a set of irons. I will stick with what I have right now. They are good looking though.

I don't quite understand where we are going with golf equipment pricing here. No way the US market can support a $1600 price tag. Japan maybe, but not here. Won't be long until everyone but the millionaires have to buy from the discount wall.

Aww that's the intro price. If they can sell 100k + at that price (and they will) the can cover their obligation to share holders as well as research and development expense. By mid summer the price will drop 30-50%.

going for a fitting next week and got excited...until that dang price tag slammed into my face. Does anyone know the reasoning behind the $1600 price tag?

Well does anyone know how well PXG irons sold? How expensive are those? If their price didn't tank them, maybe TM felt they could up it and still stay below the $300 per club mark. I personally would never spend that much on irons, let alone ones from TM.

What does "MOTO" stand for?

I hope they make more than that, or else I'd feel like I couldn't even play these. Like they need to be kept in a glass display case and kept in pristine condition.

The 770s are right in the "normal" price range of $1,199 and are probably a better fit for most anyways. My favorite thing about the 770s is that the lofts are jacked up all that much. The PW in the 750s is 47 deg and in the 770s it's 46 degrees (unlike game improvement irons where you see the PW in the 42-43 deg range).

I think they are smart to offer the tour proto in a limited release. I don't think the last MBs sold at quite the rate they expected, so now they're being smart and limiting the release.

Also, I was really excited to see these irons... UNTIL I SAW THE NEW BRIDGESTONE X-BLADES!!! My guess is they'll be extremely expensive but man are those good looking clubs.

I look at it this way regarding the $1600 price for the Protos - if you have deep pockets and can afford them or your golf ego is bigger than most and have to play the same clubs as Day, Rose, Garcia, Rahm etc - $200 per club is the same price as the Titleist T-MB. Both of these are cheaper than the Titleist C16 ( limited to 1,000 sets ) at $325 / club or the PXG at $375 / club.

If the $1200 price point is realistic then choose between AP2 / MPxx / CF16 / Z965 or the new TM P770

I agree with you. In my original post up towards the top^^^^, I was more saying the price surprised me coming from TM. I get they seem to like to introduce "special edition" drivers and so forth, but I don't remember them doing a iron set like that. And honestly, it doesn't matter what the price is...it could be $300 / club for the set and someone would still pay it.

Is it me, or are these MP-25 rip-offs? Slot and the same look.
