Golf Channel commentators

Within the last 3 nights or so I heard Tripp Isenhour refer to 59 and compare it to the 4 minute mile

Exact comparison brought up in a thread here. Me thinks that is not a coincidence

It makes sense .. they need air time to till and this place is full of golf junkies yapping about the game

I posted here that Brandel Chamblee's perspective is "not so bright." The very next day Brandel gave his take on playing in cloudy weather. One day after posting a recipe for Chicken Cacciatore, Frank Nobilo said something about Mark Calcavecchia eating chicken.

They are always ripping us off, and I am sick and tired of it.

Its getting unwatchable. I understand the need to fill time in, but a different person and a different perspective would be nice. But still not as bad as watching golf on FOX.

I have found myself literally watching golf on mute nowadays. If something out or the ordinary happens I can always rewind and watch with sound. I just cant get over the amount of crap I hear spewing from the mouths of those commentators.

I can't ever tell who it is but someone sounds like they have the mic shoved up their nose. It's the most annoying and distracting thing ever.

My viewership of the Golf Channel diminished after it got rid of Holly Sanders and Win McMurry. After all, television is a visual medium.

Golf Channel has declined to the point where I rarely even turn it on, whereas in the past, it was on more than any other.

NBC has ruined it, as well as loss of some of the visual talent (Holly, Win, etc.) as well as GC has gotten away from its origin....remember when they used to have Jim Flick and others actually educating on how to play the game?

Too bad, as GC was a good thing, but like most things the lame stream media companies take over, it's just ruined.

Oh well, that's okay, I can cut some cable costs and no problem living without it.

And of course last night I'm working out and they are discussing someone maybe shooting 57.

I swear they are on this site constantly poaching ideas. It's a good idea on their part ... widens the idea base ... but hey the OP's should get credit on the broadcast

Last year I posted about the critically acclaimed musical composer and golfer, Mr. Dick Venison. Three days later the golf channel runs a special on performance enhancements and talks about the recreational use of deer antler juice used by Paul Lawrie and Vijay Singh.

Also, more than a few times I have made reference to Salvation Army. Within days of my last post, the golf channel ran a special on Lee Trevino and his time in the armed services.

And who can forget that highly controversial thread I started years ago about the idea to change cup sizes to enhance the experience, and speed play. Next thing you know Kelly Tilghman is getting less air time, and Sara Brown is front and center.

At this point, I just don't know how to react.

Arnie passed away and Tilghman's on-air time drops. Coincidence? Just saying.

It was roughly 3 weeks ago when I responded to someone’s post that referenced safe snacks to take on the course. A few days later the golf channel reported an incident where (apparently) someone broke into a car, reportedly owned by Jimmy Roberts, and the only evidence they found in the car was a sleeve of Ritz crackers, a balled-up pair of boxer shorts and some safety glasses.

It's sad. What happened to honest journalism?
