Callaway X Forged Mack Daddy

If you were going to play a X wedge (what Pelz calls it) which Callaway X Forged w/ MD grooves would you choose the 62*/9 or 64*/9? Why???

I do not consider to add neither 62 nor 64 to my 52 & 58 X-forged wedges, but if I should, I'll choose 64*. It fits in a set of 52-58-64 (6 degree difference) .

id choose a 60* with 3* of bounce or similar and shave the heel off. youll be able to open it up just as much and the playability is better. depending on where you are playing. i play in texas so thats waaaay too much bounce to be playing with.

You still will not be able to hit the shots you can with a 64. To me a 62 degree wedge does not make a whole lot of sense. The reality of it is your not going to be hitting many full shots with either one so why not just go for the maximum loft possible? Also, as the previous post eludes to it really depends on how profecent you are with a 60. Me personally I have my 60 bent to 59 and there are not many times where i say to myself i wish i had more loft. To each his own. My friend has the 64 and gets up and down like crazy with it.

64°. I plan on getting one and playing it along side a 51° and 56°MD X-Forged or 52° and 58° MD PM X-Tour.

Just added a 64 MD to the bag to go with a 52 and 58. Only have 2 rounds on them so its to early to give the thumbs up but I like what I have seen so far. On the "soft touch" shots" the 64 is very good and I hope great

I think I might add the 64* based on the comments so far. I'm currently playing MP-57 47* PW, MP-R C-Grind 53* GW, and X Forged MD C-Grind 58* LW. I think the 64* would also fit in best on courses where this club would be an advantage.

the purpose of the added loft of the X wedge is so you DON'T have to open the club face ....which adds more more variable to the swing...

I got the 64* and love it. My wedge combo is PW@ 47, 54, 59, 64. Works for me. The 64 MD spins the ball way more than my Titliest Vokey SM EVER did. Eats the balls too!

I put a 64 in the bag last week and noticed a big difference at the course this past week. Flop shots were easy when I didnt have to open up the face and manipulate the club at all. Any shots over 50 yards were very tough to judge the distance and I probably will limit use of the 64 to 50 yards and in. But, I didn't miss the 3 wood one bit and I know it helped my game on 2 par fives that I ordinarily would have gone for it with the 3 in the bag. Instead I laid up with the 3 iron and hit an approach shot. 2 pars but only because I missed makeable birdie putts.

I don't buy the bounce argument that people make -- look at the sole of the wedge and look at the relief -- the 62 and 64 have heel and trailing edge relief -- not as much relief on the toe.

They lay fairly close to the ground on a tight lie -- from dirt or concrete-like grass, you'd want to play it back in the stance a tad for any wedge.

It looks like a nice wedge -- the choice of 62 or 64 depends on you, your gaps and how you play a wedge. I'd think a 62 would have more use than just trouble shots if your last highest wedge is a 58. Still it's a specialty club -- I can see its use when dealing with glacial greens or in the rough.

I'm planning on bagging the 64 around May. The greens will be really firm and I won't need my hybrid then. I love playing a 64 and figure this one will be the best I've ever got to get my hands on.
