Titleist 915 D2 driver stock shafts - flex question

Hi,

[boring introduction]

I played a lot of golf between 2000 and 2008 and I was always in between regular and stiff at that time, but bought mostly stiff as I hoped to get better and faster. Unfortunately due to moving and job changing I quit playing completely for about 5 years and just played 4-5 9hole rounds in the last few years. But I plan to play more golf this season again.

Currently my driver swingspeed is 94-97. If I force it, I can do 101 or 103 but with bad results and I think 94-97 is realistic on the course. So, coming from this swingspeed and because my equipement in mostly from 2003-2005, I...

[main question part]

...just bought a used Titleist 915 D2 with the blue Diamana S+Plus 60 in Regular for a nice price. Afaik that Diamana is the stock shaft of the 915, right?

When I looked up the shaft on Mitsubishi's website afterwards, I was shocked to see their swingspeed fitting recommendations, see bottom of that page: http://www.mrc-golf.com/products/splus

Regular: 81-90 mph

Stiff: 92-105 mph

So basically I would perfectly fit a stiff diamana. I never heard about such low speed recommendations before.

1. Is the data correct or is this just a mistake?

I am feeling stupid that I just bought a wrong club. As I saw also quite a few Titleist drivers with the Aldila RIP Phenom and I looked them up for a comparison, you can find Aldila's fitting recommendations here: http://www.aldila.com/fitting-guide/

Regular: 90-100 mph

Stiff: 100-110 mph

Mitsubishi's regular and Aldila's regular does not even overlap, wtf? I know regular and stiff are not standardized terms and every company can use them as they like, but everyone would benefit if they could more or less agree on the same ranges. In this example stiff and regular means a completely different thing!

Ironically both companies show driver carry ranges besides the swing speed as fitting recommendations and in driver carry it fits again.

Mitsubishi driver carry Regular: 210-239

Aldila driver carry Regular: 210-240

Something seems not right, therefore some more questions:

2. Diamana players, does this shaft play weak for you?

3. Did anybody have a Titleist fitting and what was the outcome in terms of ss->shaft flex?

4. Should I get another shaft asap or better try the Diamana for a while?

Thanks in advance for your help / opinions.

Swing speed isn't the only metric that dictates what flex shaft you should be using. Your transition and tempo during the swing will have just as much if not more impact on what flex shaft you should play.

Secondly, there is not uniformity from brand to brand or even within a brand when going between different bend profiles as to what is what. Best thing to do is to get out on the course and play a couple of rounds with it and see how things go in terms of the ball flight you're seeing and also the feel that you're getting when you swing the club on a live shot. The little address wiggle isn't going to give you much of an indication of the shaft's performance or relative stiffness.
