goals for 2005/06

Hey Guys

With the year just finishing and a new one starting I just wanted to know if everyone reached there goals for the 2005 season and what are there goals for the 2006 season.

First my main goal for 2005 was to get to single figures which I fell just short of (still one round left so i could go low and reach it) but i had to take a month and a half of cause of a back injury so if you take that out I mite of made it.

My other major goal was to win the B grade district championship which im happy to say I did.

My goals for 2006 will be a 5/6 handicap aswell as consistantly shooting in the 70's. I would also like to shoot a round under par and repeat at the district championships and win the club championships.

I would also like to play well in all the junior tournements i play over the summer and hopefully win one or two

So let us know what you wish to achieve.

Brent

I hope to get down to scratch by the beginning of next summer. I am playing in a lot of tournaments, starting to play in the FC/WT, and IJGA events next fall, and a lot of New England stuff during the summer. I want to win 3 New England PGA events (TPT) which means qualifying for the Westfeild Sectional Qualifier, and to make the cut in the Bank North Greater Portland Open (a professional event that comes through my area).

Thats some of the things that I want to accomplish, I am setting the bar high for next year, and hopefully I can gain some winning confidence going into the FC/WT tournaments that I am playing towards the end of the year.

My goals: Be more confident in my putting stroke, that should be enough to help me obtain my next goal of consistently in the 70's. Even with the ability to reach par 4s in one and par 5s in two, I still have yet to get an eagle which is another goal. Average more than one birdie per round, it's nice to shoot a 74 but when you do it without any birdies making par after par after par gets boring. And finally, beat my boss/head pro at the course I work at.

And also shoot a round lower than my current best of 73.

1. Dramatically increase the accuracy of my half pitches.

2. Hit more fairways.

3. Work on my up-and-downs

4. Get down to 4 (9 ATM)

!Update!- What a great whay to start the year! I shot 76 and 74 on a par 72 course so I've dropped 2 shots in 2 days. Half way to my goal to get to 4

!Update!- I just had a 77 so now I've dropped to 6.1. Now I've got the hard parts left.

My Goals:

Improve my mental game which will allow me to shot in the low 70's high 60's in tournaments...bc now the low 70's has been a little rare.

Tournament wise my goals are to qualify for the Junior AM...missed by 2 strokes last year...... and play well enought to give my self a chance to qualify at the Publinks and the AM. Also i have an Exemption and some stars on the AJGA and i want to improve my status on that tour and really play well e3nough to get a few top 10's.

O and to work real hard in the gym with my trainer and on the course with my coaches.

For school golf in the fall anything less than a top 5 finish in states will be dissapointing.

I'm gonna need to work hard and keep my focus this year but it wil happen.

Goals for this year:

To be the best junior golfer (under 18) at my home club beyond a reasonable doubt.

To finish high in CJGA events, as well as some AJGA events, and possibly some IJGT's.

Qualify, and make cut for the Ontario amature.

Place top for juvenille division on Junior Tyson tour.

That's all! :)

Goals for this year (knock on wood)

1) at least one round under par (lowest ever was 73, 1 over and it's killing me :) )

2) Make an eagle

3) Drop from 9 to 1 (I got a small tip from a pro about a week ago, and all I've seen the ball do is go straight, so this is a very reasonable goal in my mind)

4) Stop being the 6 man on the team (aka, the worst starter: the scrub: the probie, you know what I mean)

5) make it past first round of sectionals

6) win a tournament of some sorts

7) lower total putts a round

8) And of course, a season ticket on the Birdie Train!

That's it, even though it is 8. I've come a long way in 2 years, and I'm happy. But the thing that keeps me going is knowing there is someone who is better than me out there, and I just can't stand that. That's what drives me. The other night I saw those 2 kids on the golf channel, and seeing 2 kids who are better than me with more opportunities than me gets me fired up. So, once this snow melts, I'm going to be out on the course and range more often than ever. I'm more ready now than ever, this is going to be one great year.

1) be a scratch by end of next year

2) get all A's in school i have a few B's right now :)

3) Qualify for some big tourneys like Doral Publix Junior Championship, Optimist International, and Press Thorton Furture Masters, and qualify for the Westfield Section Junior Championship.

We may be seeing eachother a few times next year. I have a very similar schedule, for the Westfeild, Optimist, and hopefully qualifying for the Publix. My buddy Ryan Gay qualified for the Doral Publix Juniors this year, he said it was a blast (especially the first day when New England plays Florida in the matches at the Blue Monster). Best of luck to you man, and hopefully we will see you in Ohio!

Like Goose I want to work on the mental side of my game so my touney scores are always near or under par. I want to be able to consistently break par. I want to go from a 0.0 to like a +2. I want to qualify for the US Amateur. I want to make it to the sectionals of the US Open qualifying. I want to shoot par or better in every match of my senior season. I want to win the state championship. And I want to be the number one golfer at Claremont McKenna next fall. I really want to beat the crap out of our number one rival. And I want to putt better.

My goals:

1) Average 82 for the high school season.

2) Lead the team in average number of putts per round (could be hard because the defending champ is still on the team and averaged something like 28.7 per round last year)

3) Get my handicap down to a 6 or better. (currently an 8).

4) Be in one of the top 4 flights for the State Junior Amateur Match Play Championships

5) Have more patience.
