Ok this isn't my comparison, but the comparison of one of my golf buddies who went to the PGA Tour SUPERSTORE's summit in January. They hit all of the new ball offerings and he raved over the TP5x. Everyone that hit the ball got a couple of free sleeves. He compared it to the XV and the new V1x (which he has played for years).

I don't have numbers or exacts, but he said that almost EVERYONE at the Summit loved either the TP5 or the "x" version. He mentioned that Justin Rose introduced it and they had him hitting the Tour Preferred X vs the TP5x and that his ball speed was up and he gained about 7-10 yards. What they seemed to love even was the spin on his wedge shots.

After the Summit, quite a few of them stayed and played Streamsong Blue, where they put the TP5x, '17 XV, and '17 V1X next to each other. My friend is a long ball hitter who doesn't have a great short game. He specifically played all three balls on three different holes and said that the TP5x was longer off the driver, had a piercing trajectory (he said all three had very similar trajectories), but his ball checked up more predictably than the other two. He said the V1x was hop and spjn backwards slightly. The XV was hop, skid and stop. But the TP5x hopped and spun back just less than foot each time. He was hitting full 60* shots (he plays the newest PING wedges).

He said the feel off the putter was more like the V1X than the XV, which he liked.

I know it's not much but I hope it helps.

I have played both Proto TP5x and 2017 XV, but not side by side. On separate occasions, I've compared to them to 2017 V1 and V1x.

My driver swing speed is about 100 mph, so likely you high speed guys will have different findings.

Feel:

TP5x was softest 'x' off the putter, followed by V1x then XV (this was a very tight race - all felt great to me)

XV had a "higher pitch click" off irons than other 'x' balls

TP5x felt the firmest off driver and woods, then V1x followed by XV

Flight:

It appears Titleist has began to catch TM and Srixon in wind performance, all did very well

TP5x launched highest and XV lowest, V1x was in the middle with driver and irons

TP5x launched lowest with wedges and V1x the highest, XV was in the middle

Distance:

V1x was the longest, followed by TP5x and then XV - this was through the bag for me

Full Shot Spin:

Driver and wood spin was virtually identical with each

V1x appeared highest with hybrids and long irons, XV and TP5 tied for second

V1x was highest with with wedges, by far... followed by TP5x and then XV

Green Side Spin:

TP5x was highest, by far... followed by XV and V1x was last by a large margin

Any chance you have hit the 330s and the TP5 and could throw your comparison to the TP5x? My driver SS is right around yours, and have been gaming the 330s for a couple years, coming off the TPx.

Unfortunately I can't compare 330s, not a ball I've played or tested in years. However, I did test TP5 and TP5x side by side, so I can help a little there.

TP5 is softer across the board - felt great to me

TP5 launchers lower, comparable to XV and does equally well in the wind - I prefer the lower flight, one of the reasons 2017 V1 is my gamer this season

TP5 appeared to be equal in distance to TP5x - TP5 came in more shallow and rolled out more on long clubs and bit more on short clubs... Achieving the same distance via different characteristics

TP5 had more spin over all. However, it was most noticeable on drives and mid and long irons (side spin mainly). TP5 only seemed to spin a small bit more with full wedges and believe it or not, seemed to have slightly less green side spin when compared to TP5x.

I played TM balls for a long time, going back to Red LDP, occasionally mixing in Srixon and Callaway... 2015 V1x was the first ProV I had every played. I had incredibly high hopes for TP5 and/or 'x', I was excited form the hype and was looking forward to going back to my "roots." Though I was sad that I didn't fall in the love with either, I was completely blown away by the new 2017 ProV. It is the first ball that truly fills every requirement for each part of my game.

I've been playing the '17 XV's for a few weeks, but couldn't resist trying the TP5X. The TP is long, and launches quite a bit higher than the XV. Feels softer than the XV, but not Chrome Soft by any means. The issue I had with the TP is cover durability. I realize we're not supposed to hit trees, but even a gentle bounce into one scuffed the cover pretty bad. I had to retire one after 10 holes with no cart path hits. I don't know if I'm prepared to spend the 45 a dozen if I have to retire them that quickly.

Tried tp5x some more this week. The performance off the tee and fairway were similar to B330, but I did notice my wedges went a little further with tp5x. The issue I had with tp5x was the lack of spin out of the rough when compared to b330. I also found my distances varied a little more with tp5x

Just ordered some xv's and interested to see how they compare to b330.

I have played both the 2017 XV and new TP5x several times.

TP5x feels softer across all shots.

The problem for me is that the TP5x has too little spin off my irons, and is it is very hard for me to control full wedge shots, as they just hang in the air forever. Its almost like hitting a flyer with a full wedge shot. I think the TP5x would be a good ball for someone who spins the ball too much.

For me (SS 110) i noticed i hit both of them about the same off the Driver, so as of right now i prefer the XV as it has just the right amount of spin.

Have not played the TPx simply based on value, but the 2017 XV is so much better than the 2015 version. Slightly softer feel, handles wonderfully in the wind and is as long as the B330 and 2015 V1X.

It also comes in yellow which I like at certain times of the year or sky background.

Hit an 8-iron to a very firm green on Monday from 160 and the ball was less than 18" from the pitch mark. Stops very well

I thought the TP5x was gonna be my gamer this year. Everything was great until I needed stopping power onto the green. On full shots at 100yds, no issue. But when I would get inside 50yds and needed to pull he string, wasn't happening. Welcome the XV! As others stated above, it's all the TP5x and then some. Very happy with the XV. Congrats , Srixon!
