So I see the tool known as "Long John" finally showed up on the Champions tour. How is it possible this clown hasn't been publicly chastised and suspended from PGA Tour golf? He is a petulant and immature 50+yr old. who clearly needs significant help with several issues.

None of this is news to anyone. I cannot imagine a reasonable justification for him not getting some Pete Rose level of reprimand. This has been going on far too long. ENOUGH ALREADY.

Never been a big fan and this is no surprise. But he's only hurting himself and he does keep things interesting.

Not the biggest JD fan, but he does draw the crowds. I just hope he smiles more instead of looking like he was forced to play to make alimony payments.

I've always been a fan but could do without the club throwing. I'm sure he will be good for the Senior Tour when it comes to audiences and he has at least one thing going for him--he's not the worst thing to come out of Arkansas by a long shot!

I can't hate John Daly... I can do without the club throwing... but it would be nice to see him find his game again. Lots of fun to watch when hes got it rolling.

That tournament is literally down the road from me and I was going to go and see him play but something else came up and I didn't go. Now I'm glad I didn't go.

The Champions Tour, in effect, changed eligibility rules to get Daly in the fields last year.

Even with that, he barely kept his status.

He's a draw, fans, and me, like him.

I don't like the feeling that he seems entitled to have a spot in tournaments he wants to play,

But I know for a fact he would try to help me, are other players if he could.

He's a tough answer to any questions regarding his type of stuff, because I want him to earn his spot and do well.

You truly believe he should be banned for life? I'm just basing that off of the "Pete Rose level of reprimand."

If so, what would you use to justify that? There were obviously very specific infractions that were used to justify Pete Rose's punishment -- which was quite a bit more than a reprimand.

It's really sad because we all wish we had that talent and the money to be able to throw away putters like that.

It is the Champions Tour. Nobody really cares. I am Champions Tour age and I don't think I have watched a tournament in 5 years. They are still great golfer's but it is the Champions Tour, a completely fabricated traveling exhibition. Did I mention that it is the Champions Tour?

i think he is a jackass and alot of wasted talent. Just curious for those who disagree, why do you like him?

Let the man work thru his demons, play golf, get a little money, and you would BAN him for throwing clubs?

I think you can agree with both of these assessments and still like him. He's obviously got quite a few demons, but it's also clear he's not a bad person. Unless of course you're the self righteous type and think the drinking and gambling make him a bad person.

Rory threw an iron into a lake a couple years ago. People seem to think he has the innocence of an infant.

Maybe just calm down a little with JD. A fine should be given, yes. This is nowhere near Pete Rose though. Maybe do a something search of Pete Rose to refresh yourself on his misdoings.

I play regularly with the most even keeled man I know. He's whipped a club off the tee twice, like 50 yards down the fairway, seemingly out of nowhere. Did I like it? Not really. Did I tell him that he's more accurate throwing his clubs? Yes. Similar to JD, my buddy both times was prepping for big tournaments, one of which was PGA Tour Q school. In both instances, he got injured a week or so before and couldn't make a solid move on the ball. It's a very frustrating thing working so hard on something only to have an injury not allow you to do it how you've been practicing.

Yes, you stated very clearly you don't like him and then asked why other people do. You got a response and now seem to want to rebut that.

Why didn't you just say you wanted to argue with someone about Daly?

I like the Champions tour and have always been a John Daly fan.

Might be a long time coming before his his first victory, hopefully he mellows out and starts learning something about playing from Little John.
