Cobra L4V vs Hibore XL

I have been reading a lot about the L4V and was wondering if anyone had compared this to the Hibore XL? I have also read that if you get L4V F that you will most likely need to reshaft. I have a swing speed between 105 - 115 depending on the day and was wondering if the L4V X would be ok as a fit for my swing. I also have the Titleist D2 and had the Cobra Speed Pro S with stock shafts and was wondering if any one could compare to those.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I was looking at both of these clubs. You just have to go hit them. I was able to hit the XL, XLS, L4V-F, and Sumo 5000 last week. Of the 4, the XL with Red S shaft felt the best. My swing speed is about 103 and tend to fade the ball with the driver. The XLS felt ok but not as solid as the XL. The L4V was alright, but the stock stiff shaft felt a little whippy. I am sure stock x-stiff shaft in the L4V would have made a difference, but I hit what they had. The 5000 in blue NV came in 4th. Last years Nike feels better. I walked out with the pre-owned XL for 110. I took it the course this past Monday and it performed like a champ even with a 3 month lay off. A fairway finder averaging 280 of the tee. Hit a couple to 300 on wet course with little to no roll. You just have to hit them side by side and go with what feels best. :coolpics:

I really thought that the L4V-X was a good head but for me it was not longer than any other top driver out there. I hit my HiBore XL and my Cobra Pro-S just as far and don't find the extra forgiveness of the L4V-X all that necessary. I am usually on the sweet spot or very near it with my driver and since I prefer the look of my Cobra Pro-S head that is the club I am gaming right now. I originally had two L4V heads, just sold one and I will probably be selling my current one soon.

All in all, I really prefer my XL and my Pro-S...I slowly came to the realization that the L4V is just not for me. I also struggled to keep the trajectory down with the L4V even after re-shafting one with a WhiteBoard and one with a ProtoPype.

The HiBore XL produces my preferred trajectory. The flight is nice and flat and just goes. My Pro-S is almost the same (little higher launch) but the Pershing 65-X shaft really transformed my Pro-S head.

Hope that helps,

Keith

I recently made the switch from an XL tour to L4V X. I had the XL shafted with a PM702 as I am a high ball hitter and this thing just launches with the best trajectory and runs like no other driver I have ever owned. I also found the XL to be super forgiving and like someone mentioned above, I'm usually very near the sweetspot and hitting the driver is my forte.

I purchased the Cobra mainly due to the buzz it was creating here. I still have the stock shaft in it and like most find it to be whippy, although unlike most I seem to be able to keep it from balloning and it actually launches low for me and I'm normally a high launch player. I have hit both side by side and distance is about the same with both. Once I change the shaft which will happen, it might changes things a little. I just find the Cobra is so easy to hit and so forgiving which I still ocassionally need.

My SS is 104-108 and I hit the L4V F a mile high, that shaft is way soft. I have an L4V X arriving today. Will give the stock stiff Diamana a whirl, but have a new Rombax Z on standy by that I bought to reshaft. We'll see.
