Mizuno MP 600 vs Titleist 905 R

How do they compare?
I currently have a Titleist 905R 10.5* (aldila NV 65 regular flex shaft) in my bag. I know that the Titleist 905R has a slight draw bias because of weighting in the head.

How does it compare with the Mizuno MP 600 (which I heard is neutral weighted with a square neutral face)? Comments only from those who have hit both drivers please.

Thanks,
Roger

I didn't like the feel and sound of the MP600 compared to the 905R.

can you even buy a MP600 in 7.5*?

I had a 9.5* R and now have a 9.5* MP600. I prefer the Mizuno. Lower spin, feels better, looks better, forgiveness about equal. I actually think it sounds better also.

joe,

i think i wanna buy a mp600 next and im not quite sure what loft to get.. i tend to spin the ball alot so thats why im going with the 600... i launch almost every 9.5 (including the 600) at 12-13 degrees at a constant SS of 115 but spin rates around 3200 on average.. would a whiteboard be a good shaft for that head or would i need to get a lower loft also?

1. Which shaft is the one you test at 3200rpm?

2. Depending on lots of factors, what spin rate are you trying to achive (realisticly)?

12*-13* looks good to me if you got the numbers of a mid kick shaft for example. You might want to consider an LCG heads from Callaway if your swing are on a good plane already and not at fault.

Anyway, You might get a perfect numbers by swicthing to a white board alone. The one I'm not sure is how low you need to go on your spinrate & LA without any knowledge of your swing and skill level.

i tried it on a epic 68x and a pershing 68 x and also a diamana BB 73x... im a 7 handicap but i play better than that figure 2700 would be a good rate. ive tired nike blacks, TP red, cally tour ix and nxt tour and extreme to lower my spin but still no luck.. i do have a semi steep swing but im pretty close to perfect plane so to speak.

If 2700 rpm is your expectation, Go ahead and try 73 WB or Rombax 6 or 7 Z08 or there is a new GD line coming out soon :black eye: ( Throtle ). Might even want to try a bit tipping if you have a quick tempo swing style.

Good Luck!

Joe

I just picked up my MP-600 today. 8.5 with a WB 73x. I had a burner tp and a titleist in the past and was spinning them both at about 3800-4000. With the new set up I am consistently under 3000 a severly dropping my launch angle
