T800 hzrdus

Did some searching and not much info. Thinking abt trying this in a driver to pair with a black in the fairway.

Is it basically a t1100 with lesser quality? Hear it's a bit counter balanced but more interested in the tip stiffness.

Can anyone post some info or link me to an existing thread?

I wish I would have get this shaft in my Epic SZ than the Speeder 665 I ordered with it. I do like the feel of the T800.

Timely post. Anyone know how these play, meaning stiff to flex or?

I have only hit the T800 in stiff and it was significantly "looser" than the stiff I play in the VTS Silver 7 series. Some of that could be attributed to the weight difference...

They only make the T800 at the moment up to 6.0 flex, instead of the 6.5 they offer elsewhere. The rep here has mentioned that they're fairly stiff shafts for the flex. I've only swung the 55g 5.5 flex and didn't find it too weak at all considering I typically play an X flex. Might have been too soft for me, but I'd imagine a 65g 6.0 would be just about right, maybe in need of a tad of tipping.

I tried the SZ with the T800 65 6.0 Stiff. It felt loose or whippy at impact for me. I much preferred the non-handcrafted HZRDUS yellow in the M2, but I don't think it's an option for the Callaway drivers. Can someone confirm?

Lol the opinions are all over the place

Ha, ie try it for yourself.

As to your question, I think the similarities between the t800 and the t1100 end with the paint job. They've stated that the t1100 is the lowest launching and spinning of the HZRDUS line, and is also counter balanced. It uses t1100 carbon fibers, which are supposed to be incredibly strong. The t800 has none of these fibers to my knowledge, and many have stated its profile is more like the yellow or red. Doesn't mean it's necessarily a worse shaft, they're just different. Looks pretty dang good though regardless.

I played an AD GP 7x most of last season. I recently had a fitting and the 55g 6.0 stood up to everything I could throw at it. My swingspeed was 115mph on Trackman. It is a phenomenal shaft for me, and way outside of where I would be looking.

For the record, I have a neg AoA around -1-1.5 down and I launch low and spin high usually (10* launch and 3000 rpm no matter what shaft I use just because I hit down on the ball).

I have Tensei Pro 80TX in my fairway, Modus 130X in my irons and wedges, and a 55g 6.0 in my driver....mind was blown at the fitting.

T800 is built with the same patterns and on the same tooling as the T1100 shaft but uses T800 fibers as its basis instead. T1100 fibers are very stiff and create a very low launch and spin shaft which isn't suited for the off the rack masses. We use T800, which is still much stronger than standard fibers, but has a lower modulus so we can make a mid spin shaft better suited for most golfers. We still have to use high strength T800 to build the shaft to have the high balance point.

T800 has the counter balancing of the T1100 but will launch more like a HZRDUS Red.

TT, I thought the HZRDUS Black 6.0 was a little too stiff for me. Would the T800 also "feel" too stiff?

It didn't in the Epic SZ 3 wood I tried.

No, T800 will not feel as stiff as Black. Go with the same flex in T800 if you felt 6.0 Black was a little too stiff.

No, T1100 spins less than Black, T800 spins more than Black.

I tried the T800 6.0 55g shaft yesterday in a 10.5 GBB. I am currently playing a tour green 65stiff in my 12* SLDR that I was comparing to. I was very impressed with the stability and performance of this shaft. Ball flight was higher launching and more carry. Anyone have the exact specs for the T800 6.6 55g? Is this a shaft that only Callaway is using? I could not find it on the PX website. Going to give it a couple more rounds and go for a fitting to see if this is truly the shaft for my swing.

Sorry for a bump of an old thread.

I just picked up a used Rogue driver with this shaft. I can’t get the darn thing in the air. Seems like almost everything is a very low, almost snappish hook. Almost a “diving” ball flight.

My regular drivers that I normally use have a Diamana 63g S (if I remember correctly, isn’t it called a whiteboard, it has the flowerband) in a old 910 D3 and a Oban Revenge 6 (04 flex) I a M1 440. I hit both of these pretty well, low to mid trajectory with a solid draw. Can’t figure this new one out. The driver is a 9* with the cogs at N and +1. I haven’t had a Callaway driver for a few years so I’m not sure on what the settings are.

Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.
