Jon Rahm OWGR #25

This kid is moving up the ladder fast! No wonder TM has such a man crush on this guy. He's becoming one of my favorites.

He looks good, but needs to watch his waistline.

Slightly concerned that he looked a bit nervous over the last few holes yesterday, but I'll put that down to inexperience.

Anyway, I'm sure he'll win all 5 points for Yerp at the next Ryder Cup.

If the WGR didn't use a minimum events divisor, his world ranking would be shocking. He's so unbelievably talented.

I love when people come out firing like him and i love the way he plays. Very exciting player to watch

Did I hear them say he was ranked something like #767 at this time last year? Pretty incredible.

I have had 3 favorite golfers in my life.

Seve, Jose, Sergio. I think Rahm will make it easy for me to continue pulling for the Spainiards

It's true, however, he was the Low Am at the '16 US Open IIRC, and only turned pro right after that.

Was also (I think ) the #1 ranked Am at one time.

He's a star, he drives it as good as anyone, putts it pretty darn well too (if eligible would have been top 5 in SG Driving and SG putting last year), I read somewhere that he didn't finish outside the top 10 in a single event his entire senior season.

I usually do not watch that much golf on TV, but found myself glued yesterday watching this guy. Love his game. Great talent.

I'm not sure why (possibly because he is rocking TM and Adidas and I am Titleist all the way) but I've not quite taken to him,

One thing I do know is that I sure am glad that he has signed up to the European Tour.

I love everything about his game -- he hits it well, has plenty of length, has a good short game and is a fantastic putter. What's not to like?

I was thinking the same thing. Pretty poor comment if you ask me.

With a name like Jon Rahm I had no idea he was a Spaniard lol...... But hes really really good fun to watch.

Didn't really see any obvious weakness in his game. Hits it really long, averaged 348 yard driving on Saturday, aggressive iron player and pretty good short game. Only thing that cost him was lag putting but then he won the Farmers after holing a 60 footer so these things even themselves out.

I think that it says something about his talent when his college golf coach gives up that job and becomes his manager.

There's almost too much young talent to keep track of. Game is pretty loaded right now

He reached 13 in two Sunday at the Farmers w/a 4i from the right fairway bunker. That is a ridiculous, ridiculous shot.

The kid can flat play golf. His waistline doesn't have anything to do with golf. He looks like he may enjoy a few beers, but what early 20's guy doesn't?

Truth. I know many don't follow amateur or college golf but up until recently he was always listed as Jon Rahm-Rodriquez. He was the number one amateur for at least a year and a half after the previous #1, Ollie Schneiderjans, turned pro.

The funny thing is there was a post last year asking if Rahm or DeChambeau would win first

Love JR's action. He hits those irons closer and he could've won. The 3 jacks were a result of POA and distance from the hole.

Super fun to watch, hits it a mile with a crazy short swing.

He struck me as very much American so I had to google up "Jon Rahm interview spanish" to spanify him in my mind. His spanish is exquisite! I have not learned spanish in school, just kind of sneak peaked helping my daughter with her spanish homeworks. And I can almost understand him! I tried the same with Jimenez and understood nada. I will google more to find out more about his spanish roots (I have been down there quite a lot), But just from hearing this I would suspect upper classs Madrid. Well, lets google on and find out.

He comes from the very north of Spain, a little village called Barrika, province of Vizcaya, region called Basque Country.
