I think Stenson mailed it in today.

I'm a Stenson fan. I love the Jimmy Ballard type connection in his swing and his sense of humor. Having said that I really felt he didn't give his round the respect it deserved today. The debacle in the lake today and putting with the wedge was laughable. He's better than that.

There were similar things said last year at the US Open when he essentially seemed to give up during the 2nd round and in the end never even completed it.

Pete Cowen his coach said something a few months ago which lets you into his psyche, he seems to hit the irons either good, great or perfectly, Stenson thinks that he needs to be hitting it perfectly to win, so I wonder in the weeks when it is not quite as good as it can be if he just gets slightly disheartened and thinks what's the point?

The incident in the pond was just odd. I'm just glad that he kept his clothes on this time.

I thought he handled it quite well. He went into the water to try and play it, which certainly doesn't show a lack of effort, and it went sideways on him. It happens.

Didn't show his round the proper respect? It was a bad day. He didn't impact the play of his playing partners, he didn't break anything, he showed a sense of humor and he played two under the rest of the way in.

He knew he had to play great to make the cut and it wasn't happening. Not that big a deal.

I hope he uses his weekend to get Henrik Stenson Eyewear on track to start actually selling sunglasses.

Total jerk move to announce this move in January and tell us he is naming the signature frame the "Iceman" and then make me wait 3 months to buy 2 pairs of them and get yelled at by my wife who just bought me Oakleys for Christmas. Totally inconsiderate on his part.

Where'd you get them? I've been in contact with the US distributor, Tony if I remember right and he said April release?

Agree. Respect may have been the wrong word but he certainly didn't seem invested or focused. Maybe the weekend off will do him some good.

Stenson is a curious one for me. I think if i was consistently top 5 in greens in regulation I'd at some point consider trying to get closer to the flag. It's fine hitting the green but if he's constantly putting from 20-30 feet you're rarely going through be in contention.

DJ went away for a few months and came back throwing darts at the pin. Stenson's ballstriking is incredible. Yet he can have a 9 iron or wedge into a green and be nowhere near the flag. That's mailing it in right there.

My post was mostly in jest but I really am interested in a release date for these. Thanks for passing this along, that's about 50% of the MSRP I was expecting. Hope they are built well because I'll definitely be buying a pair now.

You must have missed The Open.

Can't always make it go where he wants, but he hits a ton of irons close to pins. Everybody has off weeks.

Me too. Wear Ray Bans off course but decided I should start wearing sunglasses since I'm also trying to limit other sun exposure. Plus I figure that's why Stenson lasers his irons.
