Great paint and finish makes it a beautiful club. It feels a little light to swing and wants to go left for me. I need loft and as the lofts increase, the heel weighting becomes more pronounced and the face gets more closed. If you play a Bruce Lietzke style cut, the 506 will be one of the longest off the rack drivers you will ever hit. I liked it a lot but would be better served by a "tour" or "pro" type model with less draw bias, not because of any crazy clubhead speeds, but because my normal shot pattern is a draw and I had to groove an over the top cut to keep drives in the short grass.

Thanks for the reply. I finally tried a 10.5* Srixon 506 w/ YS 6+ R shaft, it looks great, feels solid, very forgiving and fairly long. I'm not a big hitter but this driver wowed me on some hits. Blasphemy, but I tried it side by side with a TM R7 425 10.5* w/ stock Reax R shaft, and I was getting better results with the Srixon. The Srixon shaft was 45.5" or 45.25" and I cut it down to 45" and for me, the shorter shaft was a real plus, more solid shots, easier to swing. The Srixon 506 has a nice solid metal sound but not noisy like a Cobra, hard to explain, to me, it felt like the Cally BB 454 but quieter. It is 450 cc and does not look too big at address, great paint finish as you said, kinda like the Sonartec NP 99 but more subtle. I got it for $200 brand new on Ebay and I'm going to keep it as long as I can. I've tried so many of the new drivers and they're all good, but the key for me as usual was the shaft, the best for my 95 mph ss I found out were the Aldila NVS 65R and the GD YS 6+ R. The ball comes out hot and it was long, nice medium to high trajectory, I did not have any problems w/ the closed face. Srixon drivers I think just need more custom shafts because their old stock shafts were too soft.

I enjoy trying out new names like Srixon and now Bridgestone because you can get great bargains on them on Ebay and I believe the quality is at par or even better than the big name OEMs.

Glad it's working for you and what a price! One of our local shops has taken on Srixon and the irons look great. They have a set of 506s with no upgrade charge for Project X shafts. I am going to give the hybrids a demo when I can. The balls are excellent and I'm getting great distance and control fom the Z-URS.

My SS is similar to yours and I'm looking to replace my TM540XD.

Does the NV65R suit only a particular head?

Heading towards the G5 but will try out the R7 425 and Nike SQ? Read some good reviews of Bridgestone's J33R though.

In the bag:

TM540XD "speeder" TM-55 firm shaft, 10.5*

TM200 3wood, firm shaft, 16*

TM rescue 19*

TM200 forged 4-pw

Cleveland rusty 57 (bent to 56)

Cleveland g588 unmetal 60*

Ody 2-ball blade putter

Pro V1 preferred.

Please note I was talking about the NVS 65 R (dark orange shaft), not the NV 65R (green). I've actually used both these shafts and I found the NVS suits my swing better. I've seen these shafts in Ping G2s, R7 Quads, Cleveland 460s, Cobra SZ 460s, Mizuno MP 001 460s, KZG Gemini 460, Callaway 454s - so I think they're suited for most of the modern driver heads out there.

I thought it was called the W-506 as the irons are called the I-506. I hit this driver a couple of weeks ago and wasn't too impressed with it, but it just really didn't fit with the ball flight that I prefer with my driver.

You are right, it is called the W-506 and the irons are I 506.
