I played with Baddeley in the Lake Macquarie Amateur in 1999. I think he was 15 or 16 at the time and I think he won the Australian Open the next year as an amateur. Anyway, his whole game was like his putting stroke. Free and natural. His swing reminded me quite of bit of Seve's swing with a little less legwork. Very rhythmic and loose without the negative connotation of loose as it pertains to a golf swing. He was a natural.

He lost that and that's a bummer.

He was never a great driver of the golf ball. He was actually a much better driver when he went full stack and tilt.

Former professional golfer. Current amateur human being.

That sucks. Enjoyed watching him beat Greg Norman for the Australian Open. Hate seeing 'natural' destroyed by anal retentive ********.

Played opposite The Open Championship - limited winners benefits, like no Masters invitation, limited points for world ranking, etc

I know a win is a win, but talk about an off the radar win. Esp since Phil and Stenson were playing an Epic final round at the time.

Well to be fair the Phil/Henrik show was long over by the time Baddeley won in a playoff. :)

Those two drives he hit on #18 today were awful. His putting stroke, however, is one of the best around.

I remember when he won last year seeing a stat on his career earnings. Just checked PGATour.com and he is now at ~$19.5 million in career earnings. I don't think that includes European or Australian tour earnings.

That's a nice career!

Happened to be scrolling thru the leaderboard on the PGA Tour app, and while he isn't in contention, I saw Aaron Baddeley's name. Made me wonder, what the heck happened to him? I can't recall the last time I saw him play. OWGR 136.

Is the wrx consensus that 136 in the owgr sucks? Smh

Crazy isn't it? I read earlier today on another golf forum (4GEA) that some mope claims the only reason Michelle Wie won the 2014 Womens US Open @ Pinehurst was that she had yardage books from PGA Tour players because she hit the ball so far. Talk about SMH stuff. Sad the lengths people will go to diminish others success.

Not in my book. But it seemed like his star was on the rose and then he kind of disappeared. I am actually surprised he's ranked that high considering how little we see of him.

Still one of the top putters year in and year out. I have always liked his short compact swing. It's tough out there.

As has been said, stack and tilt happened, which wasn't good for his game.

Didn't stack and tilt ruin Mike Weir too?

yes, and made Tiger loose his career due to broken back.

Lot of stuff going on with that

edit: had to add this article when charlie wi defended stack and tilt.

http://canadiangolfer.com/2010/09/11/st-supporter-wi-rips-weir-badds-and-foley/

check how wi played the last few years...........and when you meet him ask him about the article from me

Knows the secret to the golf swing to own it.
300+ yards and 4% dispersion for unmatched accuracy

I know Badds wants to win, but his family is by far his number 1 priority. If 20 million in career earnings, keeping his card, and spending as much time with his wife and kids as possible is cool with him.. that's ok in my book. Probably the most grounded successful PGA Tour player you will ever meet. Very popular win in the locker room when he won last year.

I don't think Baddeleys been stack and tilt for years guys. He's certainly flown under the radar for a while now though.

I can't see the point in bashing any sort of swing model or method as at the end of the day, they all have won, lost and been injured by playing golf.

Can anyone here say different about their proven swing model? What's that? Nothing....

He has been or was seeing Scott Hamilton. It was humping the goat issue and he won on a tough course at Grand National where "weak" field included Vegas shooting 60 in one round. 74.3/136 water everywhere and tricky greens. And having kids is the bomb...great guy with 5th on way I think...people here trip me out sometimes.
