***ATTENTION***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***ATTENTION***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***ATTENTION

Last year, in an effort to improve the capability of our forums, we switched to new software. We expected tremendous scalability and rapid customization that would significantly improve each Member's experience across multiple devices and integrate flawlessly with social media platforms.

Unfortunately, after a significant capital expense, we have decided that the length of time and the additional cost to reach our goals make this enterprise untenable.

Thus, we have made the difficult decision to transition the forums to our original software platform. We’re excited that, in the nearly two years since we began the process of our most recent switch, our original platform has been upgraded significantly, and we are confident that the reversion will not only provide the stability that we desperately needed prior to our last move but will also return to the Membership the high level of customization that made our online community so great. We have also added technical resources to the GolfWRX staff that will allow us to build custom modules and modifications that we are confident will take the forums to the next level.

We remain the world's largest online golf community, and we still hold true to our core values and mission statement as written in 2005. Bearing both of those elements in mind, being the best and offering our Members a platform that is world-class are both requirements, not options, and it is that spirit that has motivated this decision.

So, please pardon our mess over the next five days or so while we transition the forums.

A few important notes: Current content will be accessible during that time, but the forums will be READ ONLY, and you will not be able to start new threads or reply to posts. Personal Messaging is enabled but PMs sent/received from the time the board was frozen will not carry over. We know this is inconvenient, and we apologize, and we greatly appreciate GolfWRXers bearing with us through the transition.

We are very excited about starting this next chapter for GolfWRX and getting back to the high-quality Member experience we all expect as soon as possible.

I snuck out for 9 holes last week. Shot 41 on a par 34 with 3 birdies. 13 on one hole was the damage.

Went back to the course a few days later and had 6 birdies. 4 in a row birdies on the back for a nice 31 but shot 38 on the front. Course rating is 61 on the par 68 layout. Hit into a hazard on a short par 3 on the second hole. Teed up another ball and hit it to 6 feet and saved bogey.

I had 7 birdies once and shot 77 in a tournament. It was a long time ago and made the local newspaper's golf section as a 'is that even possible' slant. To be honest, I hadn't been playing that long and it was a birdie or a double/triple. What I do remember about it was on the most difficult par 3 I hit it about 2 inches from the hole. On another hole I hit a putt that I pulled, but it hit a spike mark and went in. What was more brutal than the score (77), I didn't get in the birdie pool, but got in the closest to the pin instead.

Weird stuff happens in golf. We had our big three day member guest at my former club about 10 years ago. The same guy had a double eagle and an eagle on back to back days on the same par 5. He was, if I recall, about a 10 handicap or thereabouts.

I played this last Thursday and made 7 birdies but only shot even par because just for the heck of it I threw in 2 doubles and 3 bogeys. Was a fun round though. Longest of the birdie putts was about 6 ft. Also missed a 6 footer for birdie. I was flagging it most of the day when I wasn't being an idiot.

6 birdies. 78. Desert course with lots of OB meant doubles on several holes. Hit it well that day though. Played much better than I scored.

5 birdies. I routinely make 4-5 birdies and shoot in the mid-70s. I'm no stranger to doubles and triples.

Did it again. 4 birdies and 1 over par 73.

If you keep knocking eventually you'll break through. I hope.

I had a round last summer with 3 birdies, all on the back 9. Shot an 87. I've never broken 80 as I am an absolute mess with a driver in my hands.

I'd never had more then 1 birdie in a round before and then had two in a row with the third coming two holes later.

This game is infuriatingly wonderful. Wonderfully infuritating?

4 birdies on the back 9 for a 33. Only problem was the 47 on the front 9 :-(

I've shot even with 6 birdies, 6 bogeys, and 6 pars. It was wild. Started out -2 through 3, gave em back, and then got to +2, then birdied 17 and 18 to shoot even. It was a roller coaster.

Most birdies, that would be 5 and I finished +2/74. Most memorable though was shooting an even par 72 making 6 Pars, 6 Bogeys, 4 Birdies and an Eagle.

5 birdies. I've never broken par, but I shot even par twice.

Two days ago I shot 79 with 3 birdies. Unfortunately I sprinkled two doubles and a dumb three-putt bogey in there as well. But it was nice to see some putts dropping finally. The past few weeks I had a lot of what I thought were pretty good putts lip out or burn edges. Just gotta remember to keep at it, they'll eventually drop.

I had 4 birdies two weekends ago and wound up with an 80. I had 4 pars, 9 bogeys and a triple for good measure. I feel like the biggest factor holding me back is my course management (and driver). I'm decently long enough and ball striking is good enough that I should be able to shoot in the mid 70s no problem. but I think mentally I need to be able to be comfortable shooting those types of scores b/c that's what happened with the triple I had. I just realized what I was doing and all of a sudden boom put up a 7 on an easy par 4. Oh well I know the day will come when I'm going to be living in the mid 70s as opposed to the mid 80s.

I’ve had more, but yesterday I had three consecutive birdies and still managed to shoot one over (nine holes). I’m actually happy because I was 4 over through the 5th hole, then went 3 under for 6-9. Up here it’s still spring golf= inconsistent!
