Update 8/14 - ***Migration work continues. Estimate Go Live to new board 8/17***

Last year, in an effort to improve the capability of our forums, we switched to new software. We expected tremendous scalability and rapid customization that would significantly improve each Member's experience across multiple devices and integrate flawlessly with social media platforms.

Unfortunately, after a significant capital expense, we have decided that the length of time and the additional cost to reach our goals make this enterprise untenable.

Thus, we have made the difficult decision to transition the forums to our original software platform. We’re excited that, in the nearly two years since we began the process of our most recent switch, our original platform has been upgraded significantly, and we are confident that the reversion will not only provide the stability that we desperately needed prior to our last move but will also return to the Membership the high level of customization that made our online community so great. We have also added technical resources to the GolfWRX staff that will allow us to build custom modules and modifications that we are confident will take the forums to the next level.

We remain the world's largest online golf community, and we still hold true to our core values and mission statement as written in 2005. Bearing both of those elements in mind, being the best and offering our Members a platform that is world-class are both requirements, not options, and it is that spirit that has motivated this decision.

So, please pardon our mess over the next five days or so while we transition the forums.

A few important notes: Current content will be accessible during that time, but the forums will be READ ONLY, and you will not be able to start new threads or reply to posts. Personal Messaging is enabled but PMs sent/received from the time the board was frozen will not carry over. We know this is inconvenient, and we apologize, and we greatly appreciate GolfWRXers bearing with us through the transition.

We are very excited about starting this next chapter for GolfWRX and getting back to the high-quality Member experience we all expect as soon as possible.

Are we still thinking September for the release? Not sure if I should wait for these or just get MP-25's now.

I would like to see a set of dinged up t7 wedges because mine after half a year look brand new with a few dings. My J15s look like they were thrown in a dryer. Boron doesn't affect the softness? Sure.

The boron WAS added to the T7's to add durability to the grooves so consumers could have a forged wedge that would last a little longer. More of the feel aspect comes from the sound and design, which is why Mizuno focuses so much on acoustics in the MP line. I didn't like the 25's b/c I thought the super thin face, not boron, made them clicky, similar sound to the multi material MP's (58/59/15). There is only a fraction of a percent of boron. Played Mizuno MP's for over 10 years. Haven't hit the T7's b/c I'm still playing T5's, I don't go though wedges often. 900 Tour and MP-5 are same material, but b/c of the design I thought they felt different, not bad, just different.

I own the following Mizuno wedges: MP Series, MP-R12, MP-R4, T5, and now T7. Anyone who says that the addition of Boron to the T7 dramatically changes the feel is suffering from delusion. I guarantee that in a blind test that almost no one would be able to determine which wedge was the T7 with boron.

I for one appreciate the addition of the boron to keep the T7 grooves sharper longer. If Mizuno hadn't come out with the MP-25 series first (with the addition of boron) then I don't think the poor reputation of this technology would have accompanied it. Everyone equated the feel of the MP-25 design with the addition of the boron when the feel was due to the design.

I had the mp25...did not care for the feel. I love my MP64 and my t7 wedges. I'm really hoping we see a mp iron more along the lines of the mp64 to compliment the blades so we can forget the mp25...

I guess I'm in the minority on the MP-25 feel. They feel solid to me in the best way. If I had to rank them I'd put them just behind the mp5 and just ahead of the 900tour. All time best feel was the mp33.

I have not, but assume they feel spectacular. Too much blade for my game these days. Played the 33's in college and they'll always be my favorite. Can't be a Mizzy fanatic without being a romantic.

The only 2 fairly recent offering from Mizuno that I did not care for the feel on was the 25's and the 15's.

54/64/4/5/900F/900T all feel great, with the 4/5's the softest, the rest is splitting hairs.

****, I am such a Mizuno fan I even think the 900 Hot Metals feel great. I have a bicycle with a chromoly steel frame. It is also strong and smooth.
And sooner or later, I am going to try some MP4s because I just love how they look.

So have we established where these sit in the line up? Look similar to the 25s minus the badging? Are these more in line with the JPX forged or tours?

Most likely a solid forging without an undercut to create a thin face. To me, the 25's felt clicky because of the thin face.
I have played Mizuno irons for the last 10 years, everything from MP53, 63's, 64's, 15's, etc.. and the mp25's feel every bid as good as all of them including the 64's. I would have to think if people are feeling a difference there just miss hitting them!

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
