I'm trying to decide between a KK DC 60TX, 70TX and Pro Orange 70TX currently. Both 70 tipped 1" and the 60 is 1.25".

Hit the 60 for the first time today and it feels great. Currently playing D5.5 but easily adjustable with the LTD Pro spaceport (right now about 2 SW worth of cottonballs in it). For some reason I have a big miss right with the KK. The Pro Orange is a little bit easier to hit straight /slight draw, but primarily little fades.

SS is right around 115 with a slightly early release (I think). I suspect my release is why I'm fanning shots to the right with the KK. Both shafts are scary long when hit well and seem to launch/spin very similarly to my eye.

Supposed to play Bethpage Black Wednesday and probably going with the Orange. Both amazing shafts.

I have gamed the KK DC XT for the last couple of years. My entire life, I have hit a right to left draw with the miss being a hook. Since playing this shaft, that has not existed. I don't know what it is about the profile, but it just doesn't hook and the miss is now a push fade. Part of my issue is that because the ball has gone left my entire life, and still does with irons and fairways, I have a major mental obstacle in aiming left and allowing the ball to float back right. The interesting thing is when there is no trouble left and I'm willing to play down the left or even middle, I hit it straight. When there is trouble left, then I aim right but also hit it right. Yes, it's lame. SS is 110-112 with a 44.25" driver and launch spin is great with this shaft. I just have to trust this shot shape more.

There are other threads on this shaft as well which elude to this. It's great in the sense that it can help you take one side of the course out of play.

Yea I'm thinking the shaft just may not work consistently with my release. Time will tell. I've heard the same thing; that it takes the left side pretty much out of play. Only problem for me is, it brings the adjacent holes fairway to the right into play lol. For now, gonna stick with the Pro Orange but definitely will experiment over the winter with both.

I game the 70tx tipped an inch and it’s been money for me. My stock shot is a face and I never could control a draw with a driver but this shaft made the difference for me. I can hit big high draw or a 5 yard draw and still have my go to shot. I love this shaft. I still doesn’t save me from a hook if I get quick but that me and not the shaft.

Trying to identify with 100% certainty which shaft I've got here. It's a Kuro Kage with "Silver Series" near the top third, DC Tini logo just under that closer to the middle , flex is written as " 80 • Flex TX" with the mitsu logo just below that. There is no logo or text near the tip.

I think it's the DC XT but am hoping someone can help me confirm. Thanks

What's the significance of the small xt?

It gets called the “XT” as a comparison to the previous line when it really is just a Kuro Kagè Dual core TX

meaning it's a an XT, just one iteration before they actually started calling it the XT?

It was essentially a proto of the finished kuro kage XD which is a second gen of the XT

As stated, it's a Tour prototype between XT and XD.

With info on the Cally Mavrik released today, it says Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI 60g and 70g, in Regular, Stiff, and X-Stiff will be a stock shaft. Can this possibly be the same shaft as the one Toll spoke highly of? I know aldila rogue has had a real deal and a watered down version with the old rogue silver 125msi and 110msi, but if this rogue white 130msi could it be the same?

I was curious about the same thing. I asked in another thread and someone mentioned no, but waiting for @TollBros to chime in with official info to see if it’s a made-for.

@TollBros this might have been covered here but there are 54 pages in this thread so I'll ask...have you guys reviewed any Oban offerings? I played a devotion 7 05 in my driver (it actually moved through 3 driver heads and i dont change too often) for a number of years and hit some stupid stupid long balls with that thing. Leaning on one hard would produce similar behavior to when i flush a mid or long iron with px shafts - jumps then flattens out and just flat out sails.

Anyway just wondering because my ball flight with that was quite similar to what comes out of my tensei pro white but with a wayyy different feel. Ive heard the kiyoshi black is similar flight but different feel.

Toll conformed it's not the same as the TX. It's not a "made for". It's just different from the TX. He mentioned it's a very good shaft.

TX. Stiffer tip, more of the exotic materials and the graphics are laser etched. Lower spin and launch.

Awesome. Thanks. I saw a post from him in the other thread too. That’s good to know - if it weren’t the case, the value of my 60TX and 70tx would’ve dropped considerably!

Shafts are like cars, they all drop significantly with a couple of rare gems that retain their value within 10% of original purchase price.

The sad thing is we have to ask this question and play detective just to find out what shafts are real and which aren't.

So far this one seems to be one of those rare gems. Not that I’m even thinking about unloading and moving on, but would’ve been a bummer if there were now 1000x more of them in the market.

This shaft is a dream. I had the synergy black and this thing is head and shoulders better. It's the first shaft, so far, that I've noticed a significant improvement in dispersion. Ball flight is perfect for me. I even lofted up and kept spin down. I will be getting one for a 3 wood at some point. I'll have to get the new SIM. Not sure I want to put it in my M2.

The Tour Rogue, ir TX flex is stiffer in the tip, tighter overall and as per usual, will have a slightly different construction than sub flexes. It is a flex made for Tour and Tour players needs. It also has laser etched higher end graphics, where the base model is screened on. The mod in the Callaway drivers is outstanding and based heavily on the Tour model, but they are not exactly the same. Try one out and see if it works for you. If you need lower spin and a tighter feel, come let me know as TX will remain Tour only.

We do test them as client competitors but we don't have clearance to release the data on them unfortunately. They are not submitted by Oban, but by a competitor who wants the data for comparison purposes on their own products. Unfortunately that means they own the product and data and I am a bit handcuffed on that one. I can however fit you based on data from Oban product.

No worries as the TX will remain Tour only and may at some point be offered aftermarket, but not for awhile and not as an OEM companion. I hear there is a second graphic Rogue White TX also with even cooler laser etching, etc. I have not seen it physically but I'll try to find more about it.

I'm very happy to hear you are lovimg the product. I don't really think I've heard of anyone who hasn't really taken to this shaft when set up correctly. And as I've said, TX version will remain tour only.

I really appreciate the response. I may hit you up for a shaft at some point, I really just discovered your GGE offerings and im intrigued after seeing the real difference for myself in the tour issued stuff. My current fairway (kk xt 80 tx) would have to be pried from my cold dead hands but am still tinkering with driver shafts. Currently playing around with tensei pro white and pro orange in 60 tx and getting extra head weight placement correct with lead tape before hot melting.

FYI guys. I purchased the Rogue White 130 TX after seeing some of the low spin/high ball speed numbers that were being posted on the forum. Based on the 115 mph swing speed numbers I assumed the spin rate would go down relative to my M5 with a Tensei Orange TX but it didn’t. RPMs increased by about 600-800 and distance is down about 10-15 yards on my simulator. Both shafts are the same weight and length.

With that said, TollBros got me what I asked for and the craftsmanship was high quality. They tipped and cut the butt end to play at 44”.

I’ll also say that the shaft feels very good. It loads more than the Tensei and the kick point seems lower. It is a fairway finder. It just wasn’t nearly the best big bad low spin shaft out there in my view. My tour AD DI and BB both had better numbers as well.

Sounds like the profile is not a fit for you. Tensei Orange is a tough shaft to beat. It has all the bells and whistles and is such a unique profile.
