College World Series - Omaha

A group of us will be in town for the CWS from June 16-20th. We are planning to golf Sunday morning, what courses are recommended? Hope to stay in the metro area but may be willing to venture a bit further if the course is worth it. Appreciate the help!

If you are a member of a club in your town perhaps they can make some calls in Omaha to get you on at Shadow Rudge, Omaha County Club, Happy Hollow etc, otherwise good golf is 30 minutes from TD Ameritrade (those aren't close to TD but atleast quality tracks)

I played QO over Memorial Day weekend, it was in really good shape!

I second QMany's comment. Was up there a few weeks back and it was in nice shape. First time I had played it, but had always heard good reviews and it delivered. Should be a fun trip with golf and CWS games.

I will say this, Quarry Oaks has some great views and a few fun holes. The front nine is a little more open and then the back nine dives into the forest along the Platte. But I don't love the layout.

I would recommend Indian Creek, and it would be a little closer. I know they just had their Media Day in preparation of hosting the Web.com event later this summer, I hear it is in great shape! When I'm in town to visit family, I practice there; they have great facilities and the greens have always been pure.

Played Indian Creek on same trip. They had recently aerated greens, so they were slowww. Course was nice and liked how they had three different nines to play. Would also recommend it as one to play.

Indian creek is a fun track! Great guys up in club house and on course. Played it after week after Web.com was a lot of fun.

I'd recommend Quarry Oaks first like the others. I'm torn between Bent Tree and Indian Creek next. (though I haven't played Bent Tree in a while, no idea on condition) Indian is fun, but I don't consider it on the same level as Quarry personally. I do think it would be more fun now that they have to prepare it for a tournament.

Quarry is off by itself, no houses along the fairways. It feels like you are in a different state. Lots of hills and elevation changes. Nothing crazy like you find in the mountains of course. Though holes like 6,9,12,17 have decent changes. I really enjoy the layout personally. Every hole is different, but there are chances to score.

I worked out at Indian and Quarry both. I found Quarry to be a much better place to work back then. Both places had great people, but a few of the people at a Indian were a bit much (a long long time ago) The people running Indian are different now, so this may not be relevant. But I've heard from a few people I know that Indian is still a bit pretentious for what it is. But that's not really a concern when you are in town for the weekend I suppose.

Quarry is a good choice. Can be a long round though if course is moving slow. Course if tough if you are not hitting it straight.

Also try to get on Arbor Links. Less than an hour from LaVista in Neb City. Have not been in a few years, but a first class course.

I might be the only one that thinks Indian Creek is a cookie cutter development course
