US OPEN- who you got?!

Rory4PresRory4Pres Members Posts: 969 ✭✭✭✭✭
I don't get into betting much but made a small wager with a friend on who would win the US Open. Since DJ was a clear favorite, second pick got an extra pick and custom order of picking. Here's how it unfolded. Which option would you take?!

Option 1: DJ, Rahm and Fowler

Option 2: Speith, Day, McIlroy, and Rose

#2, as they have all won Majors, and 3 have won this tournament

I do like Rahm to be in it.

Just not sure if DJ will have it in him with this being his first major of the year, and I don't think a young kid like Rahm can win this big so soon into turning pro. Rickie always has a shot, but after playing like garbage last weekend, the mental game might creep in on him at any point.

I'm much more inclined to say #2 is the better "bet" of either option, as Speith is a past winner, Day is turned on the heat as of late, Rory is Rory, and Rose just barely lost the Masters.

It's almost like the dude does not have "BAD" days on the course, just really consistent and in contention a LOT. Impressive.....

At least until I heard the stat about In Gee Chun on the LPGA. Has played 41 events and finished in the top 2 - 10 times.

Ouch, You need to get a better payout.

    VegasInsider has him at 18/1.

I don't bet, but given the forecast for the weekend I changed my pic to Rory. He's done very well in majors in the past when the courses are playing soft. I'm not sure it will ever get to Congressional soft out there, but hard and fast isn't his game.

He's 20-1 to win at most of the UK bookmakers, so unless your 5/1 odds are for him to finish in the Top 5, I think you got a bit fleeced on your bet ... image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm in a pool and picked DJ, Fowler, Day and Dufner. I had a hard time not choosing Rahm and Sergio but I am going to save them for the British since you can only pick guys once.

So you were "forced" to bet $1000 on a 1/4 the payout you should receive if you win? That means the house is taking a 75% commission rather than 10% if you win.

I don't like Fowler or McIlroy but I'll take option #2.. I do like Rose.

When I say "like" I mean "like to win". I don't have a problem with these guys, necessarily.

Over all great bunch of guy's, competitive as ****. The party this Sunday is paid for from last years take. Bringing in a four star chef from the city. I like Rahm, and would back him in 3 out 4 majors, but I cannot back him here. Too inaccurate off the tee for a US Open setup.

Stick with guys who know how to hit it straight. Sergio, Fowler, Dufner, etc..
