Professional help for the back pain which is good, but bad at the same time, because he's still in pain, which is worrying after a fusion.

Hopefully it's just residual nerve pain but unlikely since this goes away in a couple days post op or even like he described, instantly relieved when waking up

Fortunately, for me, I couldn't care less. Tiger is what Tiger is and he will be fine, freed from the necessity of having to entertain me with his golf game. He will make a good "elder statesman" for the PGA somewhere down the line. Meantime, we shouldn't be sweating the small stuff like DUI's and such.

He said he is going to get professional help to manage his medications for pain and sleep issues. I didn't really read that he was admitting addiction.

When I had my neck surgery, c4-5, c6-7 fused, the nerve pain was gone when I woke up. There was some surgical pain, but that went away in less than a week. Tiger either has a problem with the surgery, or he really needs to be in rehab. Hope he can get himself in order.

He stated he had no pain in the days before the arrest. He's dealing with how he deals with pain, not the pain itself. Big difference as he's insinuating an addiction. How many public/private figures do we have to lose to the opioid addiction before we truly send help where it's needed.

Obviously his "best I've felt in years" proclamation was drug produced. Pretty sad that he ends up going down the same road as many athletes with too much money, too much free time, no real friends. Part time parent, girlfriends now that seem to be with him for what he buys them. So now he can add drug addict to sex addict. Maybe the good thing that will come out of this (other than him learning about his addiction) is the doctors that keep giving him these combinations of prescriptions will take note so they don't lose their licenses.

Hope for the best because he certainly was headed down the road to destruction..

Assuming your medical situation is comparable to everyone else is not the way to go in cases like this.

It seems that Mark Rolfing and Notah were right on the button when they said that they hoped this was a wakeup call and he got help. Can only wish him well and hope he is successful.
