Baba booey 25th

Today is the 25th anniversary of people yelling "baba booey" on TV. What is everyone's opinion on this phrase being yelled at tournaments?

Agreed. I don't know why they haven't. Their slack in enforcing this has basically encouraged it.

Was embarrassing to hear all the idiots. Quite a contrast to the previous major, as well as the next.

I guess what makes this one worse is the people yelling know that it will get replayed on the Stern Show. It is there little (very little) touch of fame.

I don't like any of the yelling but unfortunately the "Get in the Hole" guy isn't going anywhere.

One of the players (can't recall which one) was clearly laying up from the fescue on one of the par 5s at Erin Hills and some moron shouted "get in the hole".

I'm not a fan of people saying/shouting things after a shot for attention, but after a drive from Tommy Fleetwood this past weekend a guy started singing "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" which got a chuckle out of me.

"Gimme a bump DJ" is still the best one I've heard. Wish I could find the video if there is one that exists. Matsuyama and Na in a playoff at Muirfield Village someone yelled "Wax on, wax off". That was original as well. The other stuff that gets yelled week after week is, well, weak.

I still feel guilty for laughing so hard I had to pull over when he dubbed James Brown yelling "Owwwwww" into the reporters screaming in horror when a politician committed suicide on television. So I get being rebellious and unruly.

But I was never bababooey guy.
