iPods on the Range

I used my Ipod during some tournaments last year.

The rounds are SOOO SLOW and I'm not a big talker lol so I listened to my Ipod in between shots.

I use it on the range too. One earpiece though..

when i used to practice a lot i would always bring my mp3 player... just about every kid on my the hs team i coach, they all have the ipods... what annoys me though is when they're on the putting green singing some rap song about laffy taffy's... its embarassing... i don't necessarily think it helps with tempo, but it does kind of put you in a good mood to get things done..

I tried it once last year at the range. The earbuds really annoyed me, kept falling out of my ears. I'll try it again with earphones that wrap around my ears.

I use the shuffle... small and lighter.

I use it during some of my practice sessions, and I have found that it reduces some of the monotony.

I have the iPod mini, and clip it onto my belt, and I use lightweight headphones that wrap around my ear so they don't fall out during a shot.

Yeah, I know it, I always wonder what the world will be like 10 years from now. Anyways, yes, I do use an iPod on the range, and sometimes while I am playing, I find that on the range, it helps those 5-6 hour range sessions go by much quicker, and you don't get as frustrated/bored.

I use my ipod nano every time I go to the range.

I prefer these...and I love mine!

i use my ipod on the range a lot and playing practice rounds by myself. it kind of puts me in a good place and helps me focus on my next shot and nothing else. plus listening to the music i had no room for my own little voice to start second guessing my reads on the greens as well.

The sole reason I have an iPod shuffle is due to golf. Asked Santa for a 1 gig Shuffle for golf purposes only.

Great on the range and in the practice bunker and on the practice green and so on. Also comes in handy while walking and playing in your favorite onesome.

I used to listen to my CD player when I was practicing. It was a Panasonic and the ear phones fit really good so they didn't fall out. I just got a 3.7 Gb iPod Nano so I will have to try it. I would love to listen to my music whilst practicing.

I use my ipod when i'm on the range. It helps me focus on my practice because i can't hear all of the distractions going on around me. I do use it when I walk the course by myself as well.

Also, I know they are illegal in many high school events.

never tried it but im goona start this year!especially handy when you get a partner you really dont like!!

i listen to music when i'm on the range only because i get bored by myself. I heard Tina Mickelson say on the Golf Channel it helps with tempo, but it doesn't seem to do it for me.

Im definately not religious with using it while im practicing. I always use it when im exercising(except when im with my trainer). As far as tournament use i know that any events i play in u cant have them turned on, for that matter of fact i dont know if ur even allowed to have them in ur bag. i just leave it in the car or locker room.

Sounds a lot like mine. Music is a passion of mine, and I love variety.

I use my mp3 player on the range and on the course when alone too. Love it. On the range it blocks out all the Academy Live tips and tricks the guys learned the night before.

I'm old school, still have my 8-track player in the car,lol. Really I did have an 8- track player, but have replaced it with a mp3 player and I do enjoy the solidarity on the range and can get in a great practice session. Last year had the mp3 player working and when I was using it on the range it told the other members to be considerate and let me work. I think I will upgrade this year and get a Nano, MP3 player eats batteries.........

If I every go down the range by myself I will take my sisters ipod with me but if im with a friend we usually have a good talk and joke round and stuff.

ya i have a mini ipod with a belt clip and its AWSOME!! i dont have the white apple head fones but ones that wrap around my ear and then since the ipod is on by belt, the chord sometimes get inthe way and so i tuck the chord under my jacket or shirt so it doesnt get in the way when i chip or putt. i usually put my ipod on random because i have an assortment of music which is good for my game beause when i listen to music i try to listen to the words, but also focus on my shot at hand. and when i really wanna focus i just focus out the music, which can also be other distraction on the course. this teaches me to "zone" in on my shot and stay more focused. and the music make practice more fun if you are alone and make the time go alot faster

Back in college I used a Walkman during tournaments and never had a problem. Eventually I grew to be a little more of a talker with my foursome, and never used it when I played with anyone. But nowadays, anytime I'm practicing, warming up, or playing by myself, I've always got some heavy tunes rumbling on the iPod. I still keep it in the bag during competitive rounds just in case I wind up paired with the grinder types that don't like to make friendly conversation out there.

I now use the Oakley Thumps. There are no wires or bluetooth. Everything is built into your sunglasses. The earbuds can also individually pop up which means that you can hear with one ear and listen to music in the other. Also the lens pop straight up without removing the glasses, perfect for those who do not like to hit golf balls with sunglasses on.

I use my Ipod NANO all the time. It is so small I can just throw it in my pocket, run the ear buds up the back of my shirt and swing away!

Luke Donald uses an ipod on the range he describes it as a do not disturb sign as most players just stand around and talk on the range
