They obviously work for her but I’m surprised she hasn’t updated the irons. Those are quite old.

5.0 in irons? x flex in driver, seems a bit strange.

Project X irons play very stout to the listed flex number. Most people that play stiff iron shafts in other brands should be playing 5.0 or 5.5 in Project X instead of 6.0 or 6.5 due to how stiff they are. It's another reason that when people try them they say they feel harsh compared to a Dynamic Gold or KBS. The Fujikura Six shaft also plays softer than a lot of shafts so an X flex tipped a little would be closer to a Stiff+. Add to that she has a pretty violent transition so the stiffer shaft probably matches better to that.

With the quality of Forged irons that Cobra has released since S2 forged, I think she can find a better set to update to but no.....she's pulling a Stenson

Even bearing in mind the fact that POS play stiff to flex, with her swing speed I would have expected to see 5.5 or even 6.0 in her irons.
The 5.0s were a little surprising, especially after seeing the shaft in the driver.

IMO that's just how they load. You should still use the same flex as in any other shaft, but just expect them to feel differently. Agree about the SIX. At least the original one used to respond quickly to tipping though. An inch would give you a solid X flex. Especially at driver length. The new one may be different.

Load profile is by far more important than a flex label on a shaft.

I play an XS driver shaft, but S or S+ in most everything else. I play the XS because the profile in that flex fits my driver swing better than an S in that same shaft does.

She may enjoy the wider sole profile compared to the other forged offerings they have put out since the S2. The S2s were some quality irons from Cobra, id put them right up there with the AP2s of that year in terms of style and performance.

Lexi is pretty much the only hope it seems for U.S. women on the LPGA Tour. The Tour seems to be overrun with women from the Far East.

Not a single article on this site from this years Solheim cup, unless the search is really bad. Pretty poor really.
Great comeback from Lexi yesterday, -8 for seven holes. Incredible to watch, and I'm European.

Woods and hybrid yes. Wedges yes. Irons meh. I demoed a set of the S2s and they were clumsy and felt harsh.

Why would she "update" irons that she hits well. Will she hit the updated irons better?
She’s obviously very comfortable with the irons she’s playing but there has been many irons released since those irons that could replace a spot in her bag. Her and Rickie are the faces of Cobra Golf and I would have to imagine that Cobra would really like to get her into a current line. That’s why I’m surprised.
