Can Rory Mcilroy balance golf and marriage?

Rory Mcilroy has been compared to Tiger Woods and has shown early dominance on the pga and European tours. There is no doubt that Rory has exemptional talent and some of us would love to drive the ball the way he does. What has happened to Rory lately? His performance reminds me of the time he was dating Caroline Wozniacki, missing cuts, very inconsistent form. Giving his wife control of his twitter account, fights on Twitter bragging about his millions, very disappointing! That Rory was a disaster on the course back then and I am seeing the likes of it recently. It is evident Rory has difficulty balancing both worlds and needs help in this area. Jack Nicholas, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods balanced both worlds and history has proven it. Mcilroy is still young and his good friend tiger should be his confidant now more than ever.

Yeah, but it didn't affect his play. He was married and banging every chick walking and he was still god on the course.

It's not Erica, it just seems he's distracted. He's had alot on his plate this year. Injury, changing clubs, marriage. It's alot for anyone to deal with. He'll be back.

Why doesn't anyone talk about the fact Rory has played in like 8 tournaments and it's mid July.

Why should you, or anyone else without a direct stake in the matter care what's going on in Rory's business/golf/personal life. The dude's in a slump, it happens to everyone. And Tiger far from balanced his marital and golf life, if he had done that, he wouldn't be divorced. All Tiger did during his farcical marriage was manage his golf life whilst still behaving like a frat boy bachelor.

He's going through a lot of transitions right now in life, comprised of marriage, new club deal, and injury recovery. He's experiencing a lot of new things all at once, and I'm sure to some degree it's taking a toll.

I can't imagine how you feel you have any personal knowledge of the character of Erica Stoll. Honestly, what gives? Do you know her?

I will reply as this is not specific to Rory but in general. Take a great golfer who is young and has no commitments. That was Rory. All your focus 100% is in golf. Once you add a relationship and marriage that focus become less than 100% - as it should be by the way. Once the focus in life come down a little the golf game will suffer it just depends on how much for each player.

Tiger was an anomaly. He always had the laser focus, even in marriage until 2008. Players today do not seem to have that laser focus. Golf is fun and they make a ton of money. Seems social media, branding and off course business is consuming them. Nothing wrong with it just saying.
