Bryson Dechambeau's Game?

So much talk around this guys equiptment and style but i know pretty much nothing about how he plays the game? iwho's seen him in person and how does he play? eg: does he hook / cut it hit straight ones, hit it high / low? high / low spin guy? interested to hear...

His stock flight is almost dead straight...

He won today.

He hits it far high and straight and makes putts.

It's a pretty good recipe for success ;)

14th at Greenbrier last week and win at John Deere Classic today.

When he's in contention, he plays golf. If you noticed today down the stretch there was very little analysis other than yardage and shot shape.. he doesn't think about it. I wish he would play this way all the time.

I knew he had the game to be out there but I never thought he had the mentality to win on tour. It takes a big man to admit when he is wrong and I am not a big man.

He won. Time for a swing and equipment overhaul.

I think his putting has been poor to start the season as he was tinkering with so many things. Seems like hes settled on a method and has been putting much better lately, which has led to some higher finishes than a W today. Whatever your opinion of him, hes different and golf can use some of that.

He a great ball striker but has a so so short game

The kid is good, I saw that in college. With all the useless hype and talk about his clubs, I'm glad to see him win. NOW, we'll see what's next for him now that the pressure is off........

One thing I've learned from this site is that people fear (hate) what's different.

Been following Bryson and dabbling with single length since I saw him in last year's Masters. Today is a great day for him.

His strokes gained putting Thursday and Friday was 2nd in field. Not sure where he finished, but that's a good sign for his game.

Dude threw down a 30 on the back 9 on a Sunday. Well done.

Side note, he was 21st and 15th in his 2 majors last year (Masters, US Open). MC in this year's US Open, but that experience will serve him well. Excited to see him in the Open.

The scientist heads to the Open. Interested to see him challenge hopefully. His different thinking can only be good for the game. He sure seems to hit it straight mostly.

Not sure why people harp about his irons and swing, which are clearly pretty good. He was mostly struggling with putting. His approach to green is actually also just around 100 rank. It's pretty hard to be elite in the PGA in the approach shots since everyone is awesome basically. Good win for him and hope he figured out the putting woes for good!

While they all hit the ball well, they are not close tee to green. There are some that are significantly better than others and the long game is what differentiates the elite players the most from the rest of the field.

I looked up his stats before the Quicken Loans event. He ranked 198 in putting. Only 4 guys were worse. It will be interesting to see if his good putting lately holds up. He was 2nd in putting for the week.

his golf swing wasn't that unconventional from what I saw in person besides his actual address position where is like Moe Norman, other than that I don't see anything that unconventional

No, he wasn't.

Actually he was supposed to be in the field for the Barbasol next weekend. Now he's going to play the Open.

Also worth noting that his win will get him a spot in next year's Masters. After his performance there as an amateur (tied for the lead at one point) and the amount of work that he did leading up to the 2016 tournament, I wouldn't be surprised to see him contend in 2018.
