62 - low round in a major

So, is Johnny Miller going to have something to say about this like he did about the 63 that was shot during the US Open? Can he find a way to discredit the shooting of 62?

As you can probably tell...I am not a big Johnny Miller fan.

Well, it wasn't in the final round and it wasn't as Oakmont. He's already pooh-poohed some other 63s with that. I think a 63 at Oakmont is better than the 34 Kim Jong-Il shot.

Bones called it! Early in the third round telecast, while doing a report from the course, he said something to the effect of 'Johnny isn't going to like it but I think there's a 62 out here today '.

Johnny was on the coverage and quite a bit was said about it on NBC, GC after and on here already pretty much all day.

That course is a joke , even Spieths big slices into the dunes are easily found and hit on to the greens

The final hole makes any local muni look difficult

If DJ had any interest today he could have shot 60 with ease , hell Breden Grace shot 62 lol

Everyone just needs to drop, "blah blah shot blah in a major", because lately, there's hasn't been a difference in difficulty between majors and non-majors. It's all about how golf is a hard game regardless how the course is setup, hundreds of people are playing on the same course, in the same conditions. Johnny needs to get the stick out of his a** and get out of the past and turn to the future where life happens, not where it's happened.

Great round, but it did come on the day with the lowest scoring average (69.03) in British Open history.

Brendan Grace was sinking putts like a madman. Odyssey should release that exact putter.

I lovingly refer to Grace as "My Special Cousin Willy". Dude looks the part. Glad for him. I had a buddy that I used to take out on town, we referred to him as "our special cousin Willy". Grace is a much better golfer but I can't get past the resemblance. Well played Willie, well played.

'You just saw the 42nd best round in major championship history. Being that it was shot in the meaningless morning round on Saturday it's 113th. But, In relation to par at -8, it's possibly tied for the 28th.'

That's what he should have said. We all need to get rid of 63 and 59 and the benchmarks and start looking at relation to par, not to mention conditions.

He hit it 62 times around the course in front of him, in a major championship. Nobody has ever done that.

Henrik's 63 last year was a billion times better, no exaggeration. If Henrik doesn't play Phil wins the Open by eleven shots (!!!). Phil shoots 65 on final day and loses... lol. Henrik's round was also obviously much more pressure packed and was also lower relative to scoring average. That round was one of the best in history, period.
