Help me pick a ball for my extreme game.

I am looking to find a ball for my idiosynchratic game. I am an extremely highspin player with a fast swing. My swingspeed averages in the mid to high 120's with a few in the 130's (I compete in LD). My spin numbers are typically in the mid 4000rpm range. I have a postive angle of attack and launch the ball very high. To combat this I play the lowest spin combo I can find: 7.5 Geek DCT with an Fuji VTLT X.

The rest of my game is pretty pedestrian...I don't hit any of my other clubs nearly as long...pretty average with irons (8 iron 150-155 etc).

My biggest weakness is my wedge game, which I hit into most par 4's. I get alot of 20-70 yard approach shots.

What I am looking for ball wise is something that is very low spin off the driver with low launch that has a nice soft feel off the irons and has good half-swing wedge spin.

I don't really like ProV1x's...they feel heavy and hard to me with irons as I don't think I am hitting them hard enough. They perform well off the driver but I like a softer ball on the greens.

My considerations so far are:

Srixon Z-Urc

Taylor Made TP Red

Wilson TX4 (would really like thoughts on this option)

Nike One Black

Any ideas or recommendations?

I have a similar issue, although my swing speed is a lot lower (115-117). The best ball available IMO is the ZUR-C. These are pretty hard to find where I live, so I often play the ZUR-S without any problems. Both are pretty good in terms of short-game spin (ZUR-C is a little better) and both feel pretty good off the putter.

NOB '08...This ball fits into exactly what you are looking for as far as low spin off the tee and good spin and feel around the greens. It is extremely long. I would also try the NOP '08 with your swing speed.

i reccomend not swinging the driver like you would in the LD comps...

are you hitting alot of fairways with this swing...?

Surprisingly I hit a lot of fairways, probably over 70% most of the time...I have had several rounds where I have missed just one...I don't swing hard or aggresively, my swing is actually very smooth with a slow tempo. With little or no role its relatively easy to keep it in the fairway!

My LD swing is much faster and harder.

I have heard alot of good things about the Z-URC I will try it and the NOB

Slazinger RAW!! They're ready? Ready to get pounded. AGAIN!!! ROAR!!!!!!

J/K... I'm in the middle of the same thing. I'm getting a little too much ball spin off the driver and I'm testing different balls. I'm down to the V1x, '08 TP Red, and B330, slight edge to the Bridgestone. I have yet to hit the NOB '08 and I should try it as well.

I think you should do something similar for yourself... get a sleeve of each and give them a shot. If you can get out when nobody else is around, you could hit a tee shot with each. I think it's going to come down to personal preference. Good luck!

Hail Southern and no place else!!
