From what video shows it's a guy finding a golf ball and putting it in his pocket but didn't really see any real evidence that it was Rory's. The ball also looked as though it has been there for a while given the fact that it was yellowed/weathered from the frames grabbed where you can see the ball but those do look like pictures taken with a potato.

So if an outside agency picks up a ball and it's not replaced by the player under 19-1, and the player erroneously plays it as a lost ball under 27-1, does this mean Rory should be DQ'd? I don't have a copy of the decisions handy.

No. There is no requirement to replace that ball, and the player would have been deemed to have put another ball in play under penalty of stroke and distance, which the player may do AT ANY TIME. 27-1a

Then, he stands with it in plain view. Why in the world wouldn't some of these "most knowledgeable " fans say anything? Especially the guy filming since he obviously thought it was Rory's ball?

Yeah the ball kinda of appears in plain sight outta nowhere. I don't think it was his. The whole thing looks odd. People walking by not saying anything, ball looks kinda dingy. I think someone would of said something. I mean we can scream mashed potatoes but can't say hey that guy snagged your ball.
