Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth

Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth

The dual fangs of this Odyssey White Hot XG Sabertooth Putter contain 37% of the putter's total weight, offering a high MOI design and creating incredible stability for an accurate stroke path. The aiming channels help align the putter to your intended target for more drained putts. The Sabertooth is constructed with a soft elastomer core that is highly resilient for exceptional feel and truer roll, while a thin, firm outer striking surface infused with urethane provides fine-tuned responsiveness. The multi-layer insert allows weight to be shifted to the perimeter of the head for higher MOI and better stability.

some say its the most radical design since the beginning of golf. I dont know about that.

BUT what i do know is:

I bought muy new sabertooth yesterday (2-march 2008) played my first round today, (just came home) . Never have i rushed that much to explain my feelings for other players.

Super putter. Firm, straight and forgiving. Beautifull control and feeling. Just outstanding control on the green.

This putter gives me the confidence to do 2 putts and less when i hit the green. Todays round 7 strokes less than normal. and that was all thanx to the putter. On the first day of playing with it....GREAT...

This putter really surprised me, when I picked it up I though it would be distracting over the ball. Decided to give it a go anyway and when I placed it behind the ball I was surprised how I didn't even notice the sabertooth edges to the putter. At address it didn't look busy like some putters do. Easy club to rock backwards and forwards and very forgiving. Very happy with the results, try it!

Right now, I'll just say this: I averaged 41.3 putts per round for my last ten rounds this summer. :black eye: I was a nervous wreck. In my first round with the Sabertooth, I had 34 putts, because suddenly I made those 3 to 6ft putts again.

I had a little trouble with distance control, though. I don't know, how it will work out in the long run, but I'll keep everybody updated.

But my general thought is this: it really helps people, whose putting woes are caused by slightly pulling or pushing short putts.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

The honeymoon continues.

First monthly medal with the Sabertooth.

Shot 6 under my hcp, the reason being mostly six clutch putts I made from 8 to 15 feet. Two to save bogeys after hitting my tee shot in the lateral water/ in the woods respectively. Two to make pars on the two most difficult holes on the course. Two to make birdies.

I started with 3 3putts that were caused by a lack of distance control on the first (long) putt. That's when I thought "Ouch, perhaps everybody is right about distance problems with this thing." But then I got the correct feel for it and from holes 7 to 18 I needed 19 putts, which is unheard of for me. 32 putts in total, season best. I can finally start to convert my improved long game into scores. It was really frustrating to hit more GIR than ever before, only to squander all those opportunities by taking 42 putts per round. With the Sabertooth, I am confident, that I can make everything. First time, since I started to play golf. Previously, I switched putters often, always finding something, that was alittle better than what I had before. This time, it is more like "This is it. Now practice will really have an effect."

BTW: The distance problems I have do not stem from the "soft" or "mushy" face of the Sabertooth. To me it feels rather hard, hot and clicky, because I used a STX putter with an extremely soft insert before.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

God, I love doing this:

number of putts in club tournaments since I started using the Sabertooth:

34 - 32 - 29 - 30.

I'm delirious.

The last of those rounds was my first ever in a club competition without a single 3putt. And I was in "3putt territory" (at least for my putting of old) on at least three greens.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

i love this putter...couldn't line up a blade style putter...that's not a problem w/this putter for me...w/that being said, it's understandable it's a unique style that may not work for everybody...as far as rolling it compared to a scotty or spider, it's fine...the feel is nice...took me only a couple of days to get distance down...i've had it for about 3 months and i'll be sticking w/this putter until i can't line it up anymore...

Just bought one and can't wait to try it on the course! Never putted well with blades, preferred a mallet but

nothing too large. Have been happy with my XG #9 33". Well, I was in Golfsmith the other day playing with the putters and the sales guy grabbed the Sabertooth and told me to give it a try. Just to be a nice guy I did. As

soon as I put the putter behind a ball and took it back I was amazed at the stability. Now, I'm 55 yrs old and have

taken to putting with a very loose grip for better distance control but I was still having a problem with those

pushes and pulls due to a slightly wobbly takeaway. The stability of the Sabertooth narrowed the range of my

misses and overall I sank more putts from 12-15 ft compared to the XG #9. I know that Rocco said this putter

helped him putt better at the U.S. Open and now I believe it. I bought one at 33" and will report back later.

The look of the putter is already starting to grow on me!!

Tried about 12 putters and as soon as I picked this up and hit a ball with it I could for once FEEL the high quality of this putter. Unbelievable feeling, The grip is to die for and the balance on this putter since the weight is on the outside, for me was easily the most balanced in the store. I don't like the weight being in the middle of the putter and thats how most of these mallets are.

Unbelievable bought one within 8 minutes of trying it.

I love mine too!! Its very stable and balanced, smooth through takeaway and stroke. Takes a little practice if you've never used a mallet style putter but once you do touch and distance control is spot on!! AS for being a mallet the head is not bulbous and looks good when standing over it. If you place the head on the hole you'll notice the round fangs match the diameter of the cup, with the two aiming dots and parallel bars setting up for 3 footers is a snap. It has also helped me with the longer putts, most of the time I'm thinking of sinking them instead of just lagging close. :partytime2:

It performed very well for me. Lags were better and it was very stable. I just wish it were heavier.

Agreed. I would be all over a black series i Sabertooth. I think I may order the 2-ball version now that you can on the website.
