Favorite Non-Major, Non-WGC Tour Event?

What is your favorite Tour event that is not a major championship, or a WGC, or maybe even playoff event?

I know a lot of people who are not tried and true golf fans that only watch majors or other big events, so my question revolves around why you watch golf outside of those events. For me it comes down to courses I have had the privilege of playing and so for the tour that becomes the TOC at Kapalua Plantation Course. Every year I watch that tournament and wonder how the pros score so low. I shot 76 the day I played it and thought I had just broke the course record.

Other PGA Tour Courses I have played:

TPC Scottsdale

TPC River Highlands

La Cantera Resort Course (Former Valero Texas Open Site)

Major Venues I have played:

Bethpage Black

Pinehurst #2

Chambers Bay

Kiawah Island Ocean Course

Prestwick (A stretch, but it did host the first Open Championship)

I like the John Deere. Birdies all over the place and TPC Deere Run is a cool track (a little biased being from the Midwest).

Outside of the Midwest I'll go with The Players and Riviera.

Players first and then Riviera.

The players is even more remarkable to visit in person, simply due to the amount of mounding around each hole. it doesn't matter how crowded it gets, if you want to follow a group you can do so- and see every single shot- at Sawgrass. It's almost hard to go to other tournaments now having seen how well constructed Sawgrass is for tournament golf.

The Scottish Open and The Dunhill Links are the two for me. Links golf on television is always good and I don't think I could ever tire of watching golf at St Andrews. It just has that X-Factor.

On the PGA Tour, I always enjoy Kapalua because it is the first event of the year and having had no PGA Tour golf for a couple months and being stuck in the middle of a Scottish winter, the views on TV just look incredible even if the course isn't one that I think looks all that good.

Pebble Beach.. I hate the Saturday TV coverage, but it's the weekend after the Super Bowl, it's February and most likely freezing here in NJ, so it's something to look forward to. Plus.. that course. I just wish they would show SpyGlass Hill.

Honda, and TPC, especially now that it's going to be back in March.
