I've been playing this ball for a few weeks now, and am impressed. To me, it is a huge improvement over the last platinum I played; much softer. I'm one of those OCD players who obsesses over the tone and pitch of the click(you know the type), and everything just feels good about this ball. Nice heft, soft feel and a lot of spin. One less thing I can blame my score on.

I played my first round with the new 2008 Platinum today. I am very impressed with the durability of this ball. It spins as good as the Pro V1, or better. It feels good, maybe not as great as the Pro V1, but close. The distance is good. Overall, I am 1000000% impressed with the durability, I may play it just to cut down the number balls I have to take out of play due to damage. 4 stars from me.

My ball fitting said Nike 1 black so I bought a dozen and played them against my last year ball, the Precept U-Tri Tour and the other top 3 from my ball fitting, TM Black, Callaway IX, and Bridgestone e6+. So I decided against Nike in favor of my Precept for spin/control and TM Black for distance. Then, I got a promo 2 pack of the Nike Platinum to use while I waited on my next shipment of the increasingly hard ot find U-Tri tour. Holy smoly! All the control of the U-tri Tour and most of the distance of the TM Black, with good durability to boot! Needless to say I'm now waiting on a shipment of these!

This is my 2nd go-round trying these balls ... Earlier in the year, I would've given these balls a 2/3 based

on lost of distance and performance. It wasn't the ball, it was ME. I've since revamped my game and I'm

swinging the club better and HOLY-SMOKE !!!! These balls are long and the performance is solid. If you

can compress the ball and make solid contact, they will respond. Based on other Tour Balls that I've tried

and like (Srixon Z-URS and Taylormade TP Red LDP), these 2008 NIKE One Platinums do not disappoint !!!

With your scoring Irons 7i, 8i, 9i, PW, SW --- You can attack the flag because these babies will stick it tight.

This is a quality ball. Lasts forever, putts well as it's a soft cover and flies straight and long. If you can get it to compress, you'll love this ball. If you play hard fast greens, try this one for control.

I play to a sixteen handicap and my swing speed is between 95-105 mph.

Went down and played Bethpage today with a new sleeve of these plats. I was told that the balls would be "spiny." I assumed this also meant soft feel for putting. NOT THE CASE! The ball didn't spin too much off course on my drives, which was nice. The ball flight was lower than my average ball flight (lower trajectory), which was great becaue were were playing in 30+ mph winds. However, around the greens, I did not like the feel of the ball. It is not too responsive when you hit it, specifically to feel and noise. When I was putting, I felt like the ball was a potato. It came off of the putter face with a dull thud, and I could not adjust my putting distance accordingly. It came off of the face too soft, which in turn did not allow me much of a guage to adjust my putting stroke on these lightning quick greens I was playing for the first time. LOTS OF HYPE, HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! For the back 9 I switched to the Titliest NXT Tours - much more responsive, better clicky feel on impact for putting.

Nothing on the market spins like these balls 150 yards in, well actually the new nike one tour does but thats about it. Befopre moving to these balls last year i would get very minimal spin on greens with prov's but when i switched I was getting anywhere from 5-20 feet of backspin.

There really isn't a better ball on the market, if I ever played a different one it would be prov but I wouldnt even think of playin any ball that wasnt nike or tity.

Anyone still playing these balls ?

No ball spins and checks like this one .

I'm playing them. The distance off the driver seems good. I love the spin off the irons. The are a little shorter off the irons than I would like but the spin is so nice I've stuck with them.

How do the Nike One Tours compare to these for distance and spin?

Yup! This ball is awesome around the green. As mentioned in another post, I've mitigated the distance loss with the driver by going with a low spin head/shaft. Greens on my home course are very hard/fast now and the rough is at its juiciest in June, so the extra spin helps a lot. I agree with the above poster that it plays a little shorter with the irons, but the control you get with the scoring clubs makes up for it. My distance control with the putter is very consistent (can't speak to the click as my putter has an insert).

Did you play NOP, or NIke PowerSoft? Just curious form your description of characteristics. If the NOP is less responsive greenside that an NXT Tour (more Titleist KoolAId missing) then it must be the archer, not the arrow. WOW
