Nah. They have mosquitoes year 'round in Florida. That (and the Zika) is enough to keep me in the great MN north.

Hey blokes...the Ryder Cup is coming back to MN!

    2028!

At least a little good news on this sloppy morning where we're mostly bummed out.

First American venue to hold a second RC.

I personally think they should move it around - there are a thousand courses in America worthy, but I will not complain. lol

Maybe this time around I will be able to go...

    Ugh. Agreed.

I wonder how late in April it will be before we can hit the courses. I guess this year is payback for last year's early March rounds.

If memory serves me this happened about 5 years ago as well. I didn't play until May and the course conditions were crap until June.

I guess it all evens out in the end but still, WTF?!

It snowed in May (for the first time I had ever seen in my life, late 30s now and I had only seen it once in my life) but I don't recall it being a big snow fall. I want to say it was three years ago now??

Correct, 2013. IIRC, I didn’t play until mid-June that year (for a multitude of reasons, the weather made it easier as well).

I feel like I've asked this before but... What course has the best deal for unlimited golf? I seem to recall The Ponds is very cheap. Anything I'm missing?

I expect it's relative to location. I doubt you'll see anything as low as The Ponds, though I note they get you on cart rental, with cart required on weekends. Falcon Ridge in Stacy is pretty low. Tanner's Brook doesn't put the cost on their site.

Closer in is fairly standard. Even Shamrock is over $1k....

does anyone know of any "out-of-their-garage" club makers?

I need some bore-through iron heads shafted up but they want like $25 a club head at Golfsmith (before they went OOB) and I'm sure GG is about the same.

User here GotBlades owns Bomber's Golf Shop in the Plymouth area, but has a shop at his house. Great club builder, even better guy. He will treat you very well.

Well, I went out and played at The Refuge yesterday and today at Stonebrook as we have a heavy storm with about a foot of snow predicted for Wed and Thursday.
    Was nice while it lasted.

Another MN'er here. I'm out in the West burbs. Play out of Bent Creek in Chan/EP mostly but like to get around and play a bunch of different courses. Bent has been absolutely swamped this year. 4-5 holes under water almost every other week it seems like.

Word going around is that the Gov is considering exempting golf courses from the shelter in place order.

    So.... we'll see

John Potter from Prestwick started petition to get governor to allow courses to stay open. 15k signatures . I believe it will happen.

I'm going to be walking these next few rounds, so considering following another thread about carrying fewer clubs. Setting up my bag today.

    Driver, 22degree Hybrid, 6, 8, 9, Gap, 54 and 58, and putter.

    Ordered Sun Mountain 2.5+ bag

Yeah, I walk most often too. Except Victory Links. Bought Bag Boy Tri Swivel. And its nice, but I still prefer to just pick up and drop off bag .

Ohio just announced that courses may remain open.

After the rain in the Metro Area this weekend, and the rain coming this week, I'm thinking the whole question may be academic. A fair number of courses might be a bit too wet.
