Eh, after the '10-'11 Winter, maybe, but this one was actually quite mild.

I'm guessing the greens will not be sufficient shape (yet).

Also man I haven't played the Dunes for a while. Is it now semi-private?

    Are you in St. Cloud?

I can only comment on the Twin CIties, but if you go anywhere in the Cities go to 2nd Swing. Seriously the best store around for reasonably priced clubs. It's off Broadway (I think) and Hwy 280 in Minneapolis.

There is also a Golf Galaxy and a Golfsmith not far from there - I believe 5 miles or so.

    Had a blast.

Hmmm, well, snow in the bunkers, running water across the fairways, chunks of ice randomly laying about, greens running at about a 5 on the stimp, but it was great!

71 and partly sunny on Wed.

    1st twincitiesgolf.com event on Thur.

And I was planning a spring fling getaway for end of month, silly me.

My dad is going out there later this week. I told him, you'd better be ready for some nastiness everywhere because that course is built on a swamp.

Like the course, but you'd better be there during the right time of year.

Best of luck to you and hopefully the wind isn't up too much as plenty of holes out there are links style.

Columbia opens at 10AM today. I'll be there.

I think Loggers and Sawmill open today also. I may hit Loggers this weekend.

Loggers and Sawmill are nice tracks. I used to play Sawmill quite a bit as their rates are nice and the course has a nice vibe to it and some sweet holes.

I live in Watertown and run the Wed. night Men's league at Timber Creek. It's an average course with tight fairways. Wild Marsh in Buffalo is very nice and affordable as is Pebble Creek in Becker and Territory in St. Cloud. I'd be up for an outing.

I played Loggers twice and enjoyed it for sure. I like the long par five links along the dirt road the most, if I remember correctly. A tad bit more bucks than Sawmill, so I usually go to Sawmill instead when I head East that way for a game.

I believe quite a few of the munis here in the Cities are now open, or very soon will be. Phalen is open now but Keller, which I thought closed last year for renovation but is still open this year, is not.

Played Loggers today, Still a little wet in some spots but overall in pretty good shape for mid March, It was a struggle with my irons but everything else was pretty solid for my first round. Wind kicked up pretty heavy after we made the turn but it was still a great day to be out hitting the sticks!!!!

It was 80 degrees in MSP today. Played Hudson Golf Club, Hudson, WI. The new ownership has got to be the rudest in the business. Course is in great shape, but their marketing strategy and pricing will destroy this formally great venue. Here was the parking lot today at noon on a Saturday. When I played today, other than my group, I did not see another human. It was literally like I rented the course. My dad and I played very slow and finished in about 2:45.

It was surreal. I was a member there the last two years. Much to say about it. I fear there is not much left for this course. I mean, the lot says it all. But I would argue, its probably in the best shape in the area.

I don't mean to sound corny, but playing on a course in that condition, alone with my dad, was an experience I may never get again. I will never forget it.
