Rombax shaft weak ??

i hit the 425 TP with the Re ax Rombax 75 s shaft today and found it felt a little weak compared to others i have tried. Both the Vista Pro and the diamana felt more tip stiff.

Has anyone tried this shaft out and found the same.

I have a vista pro 80 s in my 3 wood and think im gonna get the X flex rombax for the driver. Is that a good combo or shopuld i always stay with the same shaft flex ????

According to our TM rep. they are the "real" ROMBAX. The technology and design was done with TM but Fujikura has the right to sell it seperately (minus the god awful TM paint job). Not at all like the Titleist use the speeder name shaft to make people think it was a 757. Of course all you had to do to realize that was observe the price. Also I believe in the TPs Taylor Made has always used the premium shaft not some designed for them offshoot. Only the paint jobs were different. However that doesn't apply toward the non $799 models---there you do get a cheaper less content shaft which would be the case in the r7 425 non TP.

Yeah the TM rep told me it was the actual rombax shaft. It feels nice, just a little tip soft

I am currently playing a R7 quad tp 9.5 with a speeder 757 shaft in stiff flex. I have sold this club to buy the new R7 425 probably 9.5, although i have heard the new clubs tend to hit the ball higher so perhaps a 8.5. The problem i am having is which shaft to go for. I would get the RE*ax 75 TP (simillar weight same torque as the 757) but am not sure what flex s or x. My swing speed is 104-107mph. I have heard several reviews saying the new shafts are not playing as stiff as the other fujikura shafts. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The bore is usually pretty shallow in TM drivers, so that could very well be why you find it to play weak. Most people just tip the shaft a little, and it feels (and plays) like it should. A lot of people complained about this with the old R7 TP because they thought the 757 played soft. Of course if you tip the shaft, the overall length will also be shorter, so you need to use a plug as well...
